Scripture:
"The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

The Heart of the Matter:
Everything we make starts with essential oils instead of something synthetic, because what's underneath matters more than what's on the surface. It's a small choice, but it's the same choice we're asked to make with ourselves: let what's real do the work, not what's easiest to fake.

Daily Application:
Pick one thing today where you've been managing appearances instead of tending what's real and tend it instead.

Quick Prayer:
Lord, I don't want to just look right. Shape what's underneath. Amen.

Something new is forming at Salty Mist, quietly, the way the tide works before anyone notices the shoreline has changed. God's new things rarely arrive with fanfare either. They spring up while we're still looking at what used to be.

Daily Application:
Notice one small thing that's shifting in your life right now, even if it's not finished yet, and name it out loud.

Quick Prayer:
Lord, give me eyes to see what You're forming before it's finished. Help me trust the springing up, not just the harvest. Amen.

Daily Application: Tonight, put the phone down an hour earlier than usual and just be still.

Quick Prayer: Lord, thank You for rest that isn't earned, just given. Help me receive it tonight. Amen.

This is where it all starts: raw ingredients, simple tools, and a lot of patience while each bar cures. Nothing rushed, nothing mass-produced. Just small batches made the slow way, the way we think good things should be made. Now, if only my studio looked like this. 😊

Wednesday 10/7, Devotional: Carried Together

Scripture: "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.", Galatians 6:2

The Heart of the Matter: Wood never grows sturdy on its own. It takes years of other things attaching, holding on, building something stronger together. By midweek, we're often tempted to go it alone, to push through quietly instead of asking for a hand. Today is a small reminder that we weren't built for solo endurance.

Daily Application: Reach out to someone today, not to vent, but to ask how they're really doing.

Quick Prayer: Father, soften my instinct to carry everything alone. Show me who needs me today, and who I need too. Amen.
