A 2025 study looked at 150 boys and girls aged 6-17 years old diagnosed with bedwetting (primary nocturnal enuresis (PNE)) concurrent with vitamin D and B12 and iron (ferritin) deficiencies. These children had on an average between 5 and 8 bedwetting events per week. Results showed that once the nutritional deficiencies were corrected the number of bedwetting nights were less than TWO nights per week. WOW, no more stress for the kids and no more washing sheets every day.
In the study, they found that 86% of the 150 children diagnosed with bedwetting who had not responded to standard urotherapy (drugs and aversion techniques) had deficiencies in vitamin B12, vitamin D, and iron (ferritin).
IMPORTANT: Following supplementation of the deficient vitamins, 77.5% of these kids experienced a reduction in bedwetting to fewer than TWO nights per week. A high rate of treatment success was achieved by simply supplementing with these three nutritional supplements. The study showed a simple fix to nutritional deficiencies and the signals from the brain to the bladder responded.
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies in kids are all too common. We think our kids eat well, but sadly, the majority are nutrient deficient. Of the 150 kids suffering with bedwetting, only 14% had NO detectable vitamin deficiencies. Low serum vitamin B12 levels was found in 78.6%, while decreased vitamin D levels were identified in 41.3%. Iron deficiency was detected in 17.3% based on ferritin testing.
