Today is Save our Seeds Day!!! Don't miss the event at Our Family Farms!
12 years ago, Jackson County passed Measure 15-119 banning GMO crops throughout the county. GMO genetic material spreads easily and farmers growing non-GMO crops suffer crushing financial losses when it contaminates their fields.
Plantiva was happy to support Our Family Farms in getting the measure passed and we're happy to support them now as they continue to defend local farmers.
They're having a big educational event today from 5:00-8:00 pm at Cedarwood Barn in Talent, Oregon. There will be food, music, speakers, kid's activities and more!!

This historic event has been held ever since 1977 in conjunction with the annual Pear Blossom Festival in Medford, OR.
The run is the brainchild of Zellah and Jerry Swartsley who in 1971 were returning home from graduate school at Montana State University. They stopped in Salt Lake City where Jerry would finish 8th in a marathon. This gave them the idea to start their own event in Oregon, and 6 years later the inaugural run was won by Olympic Medalist Frank Shorter.
