Fresh shaded eyeliner -and yes, there’s a reason I love brown. 🤎☕️
Permanent eyeliner doesn’t have to look like a harsh black line sitting on top of the eye. For this fresh result, I used a deeper lash enhancement along the lash line with soft brown shading above it. The goal is definition, depth and that slightly smoky effect -without making the eye look heavy.
Brown is one of my favorite choices for shaded permanent eyeliner because I’m always thinking beyond how it looks today. Permanent makeup lives in the skin for years, and I want it to soften and age as gracefully as possible. Fresh work will always look darker and more defined; once healed, the shading becomes softer and more diffused.
For me, good permanent eyeliner should make you notice the eyes first -not the tattoo.🙏

Fresh lip blush is not the final result. But it can tell you A LOT about the artist.
Yes, these lips are fresh. Yes, they’re swollen. And NO, this is absolutely not the color they will heal. 😂 But forget the pretty color for a second and look at the quality of the implantation.
When you’re choosing a lip blush artist, zoom in. Seriously. Look at the entire lip. Is the saturation consistent, or are there random gaps? Does the color transition smoothly into the wet/dry border and mucosa? Is the Cupid’s bow actually covered? What happens around the corners and the perimeter? And most importantly - can you still see REAL skin and texture around the work, or has the entire photograph mysteriously been polished into oblivion? 👀 Fresh work doesn’t tell you everything, but clean, controlled, consistent implantation tells you quite a bit.
Healed results are still the gold standard. Always. My lip blush typically heals substantially softer and less vibrant than what you see immediately after the procedure -often around 40% or more - and then we decide what the lips actually need. Sometimes we build more color at the touch-up. Sometimes I look at them and say: don’t touch a damn thing. Because good lip blush isn’t about cramming as much pigment as possible into someone’s face. It’s about knowing exactly where to put it, when to stop, and how that work is going to live in the skin.
No Photoshop. No skin cleanup. Fresh work, exactly as it walked out of my studio. Swipe to see before >>>

Sometimes a client says “I want it brighter.” And sometimes I, respectfully, say: yes… but we are still going to behave. 😂 Because brighter does NOT have to mean heavier, flatter, darker, or “hello, I tattooed my lips.” You can have more color and still keep the translucency, texture and dimension of actual lips. This is ONE Lip Blush session, healed at 6 weeks. No touch-up. Client happy. Me happy. 💋
And I’m becoming increasingly passionate about this because I’m seeing more clients coming in for lip blush corrections and removal. Lip blush may look simple on Instagram, but it is an advanced cosmetic tattoo procedure. Color theory, skin, depth, pressure, needle configuration, saturation, borders, mucosa, healing-all of it matters. The goal isn’t to make the lips look spectacular for the photo you take immediately after. The flex is what walks back through your door healed.
And my little PMU kittens 🐱 - if your healed work is currently giving you surprises you did not order, please come see me before we create more surprises on other people’s faces. I currently offer private 1:1 Lip Blush training in San Francisco, where we can troubleshoot your technique, color choices, hand movement, implantation and healed results and actually work on what you need help with. For studios and artist groups, I’m also available for select on-site trainings and can travel to teach your team. DM me TRAINING for private or studio education.

This is step ONE of lip neutralization - and this is exactly where you do not rush the process.
Her natural pigmentation is deeper through the upper lip and along the lower border, which is extremely common. And because her end goal is a brighter, juicy strawberry/raspberry red, I can’t just tattoo that color over a darker base and hope for the best. It would get swallowed by the existing pigmentation. First, we create a lighter, more even canvas. Then we build the fun color. 🍓
The appointment took about 1.5 hours. The swelling you see here is immediate and usually settles within the first day. Then comes peeling, disappearing pigment, reappearing pigment and all the other healing drama 😂 -because pigment development is not linear. I won’t judge this result prematurely or keep tattooing the skin. We give it about 8 weeks, see what actually healed and retained, and only then decide exactly what the next session needs.
I’ve been doing lip neutralization for years and somehow don’t show enough of it. Fixing that. More real cases, healing stages and long-term results are coming - because the healed work is where the skill actually shows.

One week after lip blush 🤌❤️
No lipstick. No filters. No Photoshop. Just a happy client sending me a selfie because she finally feels like herself.
This is the part you don’t usually see on Instagram.
Not the fresh, swollen lips right after the procedure. Not the over-edited close-ups. Real life. A woman going to work, wearing her glasses, smiling, and not thinking about whether her lips disappeared after her morning coffee.
Permanent makeup isn’t about creating “Instagram lips.” It’s about giving you back your natural color so you look healthy, rested, and effortlessly put together—even with nothing on.
If you’re researching lip blush in the San Francisco Bay Area, don’t just look at fresh results.
Ask to see healed work.
Ask to see selfies.
Ask to see clients living their lives.
That’s where the real artistry begins.

Two years later. One session. No Photoshop.
This client came in for a refresh after two years.
To be honest, if she hadn’t wanted just a little more color and saturation, I probably wouldn’t have recommended refreshing them yet.
Some clients fade much faster. Others, like her, retain pigment beautifully. Daily SPF on the lips likely helped protect the color from UV fading, but skin, lifestyle, and healing all play a role.
What you’re seeing here is exactly why I post healed results with little to no editing.
Lately, AI has made it incredibly easy to smooth skin, brighten pigment, reshape lips, and create “perfect” results that never actually existed. Add Instagram’s own filters and color compression, and it becomes even harder to know what’s real.
I believe our industry needs more honesty, not better filters.
When you’re researching a permanent makeup artist, don’t just look for beautiful photos. Look for believable photos.
I do use zoom lens on my cam. But… Can you still see skin texture? Can you still see pores?
Do the healed results look like they belong on a real human being?
Because permanent makeup isn’t about creating the perfect Instagram picture. It’s about making someone feel beautiful every single morning in real life.
Beautiful marketing may attract attention.
Beautiful healed work is what earns trust.
And one more thing: a luxury car, designer bags, or a glamorous Instagram feed don’t tell you anything about how someone tattoos skin. They don’t predict healed color, retention, symmetry, or long-term results.
Look for craftsmanship instead.
That’s what you’re going to wear for years.

This is what I hope your brows look like 2 years later.
Not gray. Not blue. Not red. Not blocky.
Not blurry “hair strokes” that have merged into solid bars.
Just soft, natural-looking brows that gradually become lighter while maintaining a flattering shape and a beautiful neutral brown tone.
These brows are 2 years healed from one session, and today my client came back-not for removal, not for correction-but simply because she wanted them a little bolder.
That’s exactly how permanent makeup should age.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that permanent makeup is supposed to stay dark forever. It shouldn’t. The goal isn’t permanence-it’s graceful fading. A well-chosen pigment and thoughtful technique should soften over time without shifting into gray, blue, purple, or orange.
When clients ask me what they should expect from powder brows, this is the answer.
Healthy, natural aging that makes a refresh easy-not a correction.
If you’re researching powder brows, ombre brows, or natural permanent makeup in the San Francisco Bay Area, don’t just ask to see fresh results. Ask what those brows look like two, three, or even five years later.
Because healed results tell the real story. This brows are 2 years old, done in one session.

No filters. No editing. No deception.
Just healed lips after one session 🤌
Every week I hear the same concerns:
“My friend had a bad experience.”
“I heard the color disappears.”
“What if it heals unevenly?”
The truth is, lip blush isn’t about luck.
It’s about craftsmanship.
Beautiful healed results come from hundreds of decisions made during the procedure-understanding the skin, choosing the right pigment, adjusting technique, and predicting how your lips will heal weeks later.
That’s why I share healed results more than fresh ones.
Fresh photos are exciting.
Healed photos are proof.
If you’re looking for natural lip blush in the San Francisco Bay Area, don’t just ask to see fresh work. Ask to see healed results. That’s where experience truly shows.
My goal has never been lips that look tattooed.
My goal is lips that simply look like the best version of yours.
