Iāve been mulling posting videos for a while. I recorded one on my iPad, watched it and immediately deleted it. I felt like I was rambling. Sure, my personality was there and I had a point, but what makes it different from the thousands of other videos out there with people doing the same thing? Coaches come a dime a dozen these days! So what makes me different?
I then questioned my intent. I want to make a positive impact so winging it is not going to cut it. I have my undergraduate in corporate communications and I know the purpose of preparation, script writing, practicing and editing before publishing. So why should my social media videos be any different?
I thought about the power of intentional action and the preparation needed to be intentional. A universal rule that we pick and choose when to implement. Sure, I can get on my socials and say something, but I donāt want to just say ANYTHING or the SAME THING! So I have to prepare my posts with the intent of delivering messages that positively inspire change.
Today is the first day Iāve ever taken a mental health day. Iām not stressed, tired, or sick. I just wanted a day to chill, reflect, read, do some yoga in the backyard, and enjoy the deck on my new home. I havenāt taken the time to just chill and enjoy my home since I got it. I wanted to post a video, but then remembered success isnāt accidental. I found a meme to reflect that and wanted to share. I hope this inspires someone to be intentional with all they do. This also serves as a reminder for me! Oh and shout out to all the content creators out there. This š© aināt easy if youāre doing it with purpose and professionalism.

I had been meaning to get in my yard and do some yoga this summer. In preparing for stretch and flex on the beach, I decided to get out there and do a few promo pics because I didnāt have any updated ones. Those mosquitoes tore me up! But it was good to do some mat and ground work outdoors. I really want to get more into grounding. Any yogis out there into it?

The best kind of motivation comes from within. You shouldnāt need to be motivated to do anything! What you want out of life comes from your inner flame, that thing that ignites you to take action and make an impact. EVERYONE has it, some of us just donāt know how to tap into it. Some of us walk around waiting to find motivation or for someone to motivate us. That is inspirationā¦and itās fine to be inspired by things. But your grit, grind, hustle and determination comes from that thing that no one can take from you. And you donāt need to look for it or even pay for it. Itās within.

A little something I saw on LinkedIn. Us PN coaches preach trial and error because nothing is guaranteed! You can have a great strategy to achieve your goals, but guess what? It may not work! So what do you do? Go back to the drafts! Rework that thing! It may be too much given your current capacity. It may be too much given your current skill level. It could be that youāre not getting the results you want because you used someone elseās blue print. A lot of times, we start off doing what others have done to be successful. But it may not work, because we donāt have the same genetic makeup, skills, and resources. Our path may be harder, longer, and much different. So we try and fail. Learn from failure. Try and fail until we try and succeed!
Do the little things that support the skills needed to achieve your goals. Doing the little things consistently over time develops skills and discipline. The goal isnāt how fast you get there, but getting there!

Seeing the Grand Canyon was beautiful. Learning about the history and culture of the Hualapai Native Indians of the West Rim was amazing, event tear jerking! I canāt wait to visit the South Rim. I want to stay in Havasupai Falls and learn about those natives as well. If youāre looking for a short trip (from Las Vegas) that enriches your spirit visit the West Rim!

TMI/Womenās Appreciation Post:
A day was had and itās not even 9 AM!!! But let me share my small victory:
I dragged myself to the pool this morning in below zero weather. That pool was COLD! Aunt FLOW is here (women, ifykyk) so I wasnāt feeling it. But after a few laps, I kept going. Swam my fastest time and longest distance ever! Only to shower, get dressed and find I brought two bras and no drawers ššš! Not to mention, someone dried my bathing suit (someone is me ššš) so my lady bits were hanging out a little this morningš©š©š©.
Yāall donāt know how frustrating it was to not have un**es! But thanks to a braid down from my beautician and a work buddy whoās gotten me to embrace wigs, I was able to get out of the gym, run to Walmart and make it to work on time with NO incident!
To sum it up:
1). Being a woman never stops! No matter whatās going on, women have the power to push through SOOO much (to be continued) including not feeling well, being caretakers, heads of households, partners, and working professionals.
2). Deadlines are deadlines. June 23rd doesnāt care about aunt flow, and if I want to be prepared, I have to fight through the āI donāt want toā, I donāt feel like itā. We all do!
3). Consistency will surprise you with results every time! This month, I just wanted to focus on getting 4 days of swimming in per week, tweaking my technique and easing my fears. I went from being tired after one lap to being able to swim non stop for 30 minutes in 3 weeks! And look at the time drop from just one week! TGBTG!
For some of those reading this that Iāve coached, who need coaching or are just here for tips and support, I say this: start small! Big goals are great, but daunting. You donāt have to always begin with thinking about the hard parts. Do the little things consistently. The habits and the discipline will come. And then, that impossible goal will be a completed task!
Btw, my head is so little my hats fall down. All of them š©š©š©

Nothing like sharing your goals with like minded people. My twin tower and sister cousin Erica Brown is doing Juneās sprint triathlon with me. Itās motivational to have someone to grow with!
Healthy Tip Tuesday: Align yourself with like minded people. Now is a great time to buddy up with someone who has similar goals as you. You can encourage each other to meal prep, exercise consistently, stretch, and practice calm. Two minds are better than one!
