Let’s be real. You probably turn your curling iron, flat iron, or any other hot tool you have all the way up to get your hair to straighten, curl, blow out.

Want to know a secret?

You don’t have to.

325*- 350* is MORE than hot enough for your hair to do what you want and even at this temperature you should still be using heat protection EVERY TIME!

I’ve had a lot of clients tell me that their hair won’t curl unless their hot tool is all the way up. Girl. I get that. I got you.

Step 1.
Heat protectant and leave in conditioner.

Step 2.
Dry your hair. All the way.

Step 3.
Curl or straighten your hair. Low heat. No higher than 350*.

Step 4.
DON’T TOUCH YOUR HAIR. At all. Let the curls set.

Step 5.
After each row and at the ends spray with hairspray. Again, don’t touch your hair yet! You want 2010 crunch not 2000’s crunch.

Step 6.
Let sit for 10-15 minutes. I know it’s hard. I really do!

Step 7.
With a wide tooth comb or your fingers, LIGHTLY comb through your hair.

Step 8. Spray lightly again and go!

Today I had a client who hadn’t been able to get her hair done in a hot minute, and I had the opportunity to talk about my faith, share a little about how my own hair journey started, and hear some of her story and get to know her, too.

Honestly, new clients can still be scary for me—even 3 years in. But clients like today remind me why I love what I do and help calm those nerves. Before you know it, we’re chatting, laughing, and having a great time in my chair. 🥰

“Why would I want to go to someone who gets nervous meeting new people?” 😂

Girl, I’m an introvert with an extrovert’s job. 😂

Think about it—how nervous do you get when you have to find a new stylist? And then you finally find one, sit in their chair, try your best to explain what you want, and quite literally put your hair AND your trust in their hands?

Nerve-wracking, right?

Same for me.

You’re someone I’ve never met, trusting me to put chemicals on your hair, make changes, and hopefully create exactly what we talked about. I want so badly for your hair to do what we want it to do, and I genuinely care about the experience you have in my chair.

I pray over each one of my clients in my chair. I’m just a girl who loves God, her family, and hair. And I’m incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love for a living.
