Practice makes positive is an inspirational book on creating healthy, and happy thoughts.
Kathy and I drove to Shelby to meet my daughter and grandson for lunch. We drove with that windows down. We laughed. We dreamed. We strolled through a vintage thrift store for hours. I set out to make sourdough… and somehow ended up making English muffins. 😅
What started as a simple ratio mistake turned into a full-on experiment. The first batch? Let’s just say they looked more like thick pancakes (photo 1). Not exactly what I had in mind.
So I adjusted. Tried again. The next round was… better (photo 2). Still not quite there, but progress.
And finally, the last batch (photo 3)… actual English muffins! Not perfect, but definitely recognizable—and honestly, I was pretty proud of them.
Here’s the thing: every single one of them tasted good. Some just looked better than others.
It reminded me of something bigger—when things don’t go as planned, you don’t quit. You pivot. You keep going. You experiment. You learn.
You might not end up where you originally intended… but you will end up somewhere. And if you let go of perfection along the way, you might even enjoy the process more than you expected.
From sourdough dreams to English muffin reality—and I wouldn’t change a thing. 💛
If you look hard enough, you can find flaws in anyone, but isn’t it better to just love the people who love you back?
