We have the best little system — every 12 weeks K, we change out her. K-Tip Hair Extensions to something new and fun. Her natural hair stays completely healthy, and she still gets to live her most colorful life. Honestly, it reminds me of the excitement of picking new band colors for braces as a kid — if you were ever a brace face you get it! That “what are we doing next?!” energy.

She’s wearing these beauties for the rest of summer, and we’re already dreaming up something special for fall. 🍂 Can’t wait to show you.

Let me explain why these keep me up at night!

Going to Bed Wet: Wet hair is fragile. Wet hair with extensions is even more vulnerable. The friction from your pillow plus hours of movement is a recipe for disaster. Dry it and Braid it, loose bun it, do something. Just not loose and wet on a pillow.

Did Not Follow At Home Care: The products I recommend and the routine I send you home with are protecting the investment you just made. When it does not happen, the hair pays for it. And then we have a hard conversation in this chair about why things do not look the way they did when you left.

The Matting (2017 & 2022): These are real and they still sit with me. One client was going through a hard battle with depression and her hair was the last thing on her mind. I completely understand that. The other had extensions installed incorrectly somewhere else combined with no at home care. Both were heartbreaking to sit with. Matting is not just a bad hair day. If life is hard and you know your hair is suffering, please just reach out. We will figure it out together.

The DIY Hair Extensions: If you want to experiment, grab a wig or some clip ins and honestly have fun with it. No hate at all. But a permanent install without the right training and tools usually costs more to fix than it saved. Come talk to me in the DMs and let’s just do it right.

Just Take Tylenol: Pain is not part of the process. Extensions done correctly should feel secure without being tight. No headaches, no days of soreness, no medicating yourself just to get through it. If that has been your experience somewhere else, I am so sorry. It does not have to feel that way.

Your hair deserves to be handled with care. That is the whole point. 💕
