In the last days, God's remnant people will face persecution. False accusations, economic pressure, and even threats of death will come. How will they respond? Like Jesus. They will not revile. They will not threaten. They will entrust themselves to the righteous Judge.

This silent, trusting witness will be powerful. It will convict those who persecute them. It will demonstrate that the remnant's hope is not in this world, but in the coming Kingdom. Their non-retaliatory love will be a testimony to the power of the gospel.

When you settle into your salvation, you prepare for persecution by practicing Jesus' response now. When you are wronged today, you train yourself to entrust your cause to God. You learn to suffer well so that you can endure the final crisis. In this devotion, we'll ask God to prepare us for the time of trouble by teaching us to suffer as Jesus suffered.

And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Paul had pleaded with the Lord to remove a "thorn in the flesh"—a persistent trial, perhaps a physical affliction or spiritual attack. Three times he begged for its removal. But the Lord's answer was not removal; it was sufficiency. "My grace is sufficient for you."

God did not say, "I will take away the thorn." He said, "I will give you enough grace to bear it." His strength is not made perfect in our strength, but in our weakness. When we are weak, His power rests upon us. His grace does not always remove the trial, but it always sustains through it.

When you settle into your salvation, you stop demanding that God remove every difficulty. You learn to trust His grace in the midst of the trial. You stop asking "Why?" and start asking "What can I learn through this?" And you find that His grace truly is sufficient—more than enough for every need. In this devotion, we'll thank God for grace that does not always remove the thorn but always sustains the soul.

Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." — 1 Peter 1:18-19

Peter reminds his readers of the priceless cost of their salvation. Silver and gold—the most valuable things in the world—are corruptible. They fade, tarnish, and eventually perish. But more importantly, they cannot redeem a soul. No amount of money can buy forgiveness. No fortune can purchase eternal life.

Your redemption was not purchased with earthly currency. It was purchased with the precious blood of Christ. He is the Lamb without blemish—the perfect sacrifice foreshadowed by all the lambs slain in the sanctuary service. His blood is precious because it alone can cleanse from sin.

When you settle into your salvation, you never forget the cost. You do not treat salvation as cheap. You recognize that you were bought with a price—not silver or gold, but the very life of the Son of God. In this devotion, we'll marvel at the precious blood that redeemed us and live as those who have been purchased by the Lamb.

The Greek word for "denying" means to say "no." Grace trains us to say "no" to ungodliness—to irreverence, to sin, to everything that dishonors God. And grace trains us to say "no" to worldly lusts—the selfish desires that pull us away from holiness.

This is not a matter of human willpower. Legalism says "you must say no" but gives no power. Grace says "I will teach you to say no" and provides the strength to do it. The same grace that saves us also sanctifies us.

When you settle into your salvation, you stop trying to defeat sin in your own strength. You let grace train you. You learn to say "no" to temptation, not out of fear, but out of love for the God who saved you. In this devotion, we'll ask God to teach us through His grace to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts.

God's remnant people are called to sow the seeds of the everlasting gospel—the three angels' messages of Revelation 14. This sowing often comes with tears. Rejection, ridicule, opposition, and sacrifice are part of the work. The seed is precious, but the sowing is hard.

Yet the promise of Psalm 126 is for the remnant. Those who go forth weeping, bearing precious seed, will doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing their sheaves. The harvest of souls—the great multitude that no one can number—will be the joy of the faithful sower.

When you settle into your salvation, you join the remnant in sowing the gospel. You do not give up when the sowing is hard. You do not stop when tears come. You trust the promise: the harvest of joy is certain. In this devotion, we'll recommit to sowing the seeds of truth, even when it costs.

In the Great Controversy, God's people will face shortages—economic pressure, the mark of the beast, the inability to buy or sell (Revelation 13:17). How will they survive? How will they have enough to give? The answer is 2 Corinthians 9:8. God is able to make all grace abound.

The same God who provided manna in the wilderness, who fed Elijah by the brook, who multiplied the widow's oil—that same God will supply for His remnant. They may not have abundance in worldly terms, but they will have sufficiency for every good work. Their grace will abound even when their resources are scarce.

When you settle into your salvation, you prepare for the time of trouble by trusting God's abounding grace now. You learn to live with sufficiency, not excess. You practice generosity even when it feels costly. And you store up not earthly treasures, but the experience of God's faithfulness. In this devotion, we'll trust God for grace that abounds even in scarcity.

The remnant is marked by commandment-keeping that flows from a transformed heart.

Revelation describes the remnant as those who "keep the commandments of God" (Revelation 14:12). But these are not cold, legalistic commandment-keepers. They obey from the heart. Their obedience is the fruit of the new covenant, where God's law is written on the heart (Hebrews 8:10).

The remnant does not keep the Sabbath to be saved. They keep it because their hearts have been changed. They love the Lawgiver, and therefore they love His law. They rest on the seventh day not as a burden, but as a delight.

When you settle into your salvation, you ask God to write His law on your heart. You do not settle for external conformity. You long for heart-deep obedience—the kind that comes from love, not fear. In this devotion, we'll pray for the remnant experience: commandment-keeping that flows from a transformed, willing heart.

The devil does not devour everyone. He is seeking whom he may devour. He looks for the isolated, the weak, the distracted, the self-confident, the prayerless. He looks for sheep who have wandered from the flock, who have stopped watching, who have let down their guard.

This means that not everyone is equally vulnerable. Those who are sober and vigilant, who are abiding in Christ, who are connected to the body of believers, who are praying and studying Scripture—these are not easy targets. The devil may roar, but he cannot devour them.

When you settle into your salvation, you refuse to be an easy target. You stay connected to the flock. You stay sober in your mind. You stay vigilant in your prayers. You do not give the enemy an opening. In this devotion, we'll identify areas where we may be vulnerable and take steps to close the gaps.
