🎯 WHAT IS SUMMARY?
ZimSEC asks: “In 80-90 words, summarize the main points of this passage.”
MEANING: Take long passage → Cut to SHORT + CLEAR points only.
NOT: Copy whole paragraph ❌
NOT: Write your opinion ❌

🔑 THE 4-STEP PAIDAMOYO METHOD = “CUT-JUMP-WRITE-COUNT”

STEP 1: CUT ✂️
Read passage TWICE.
- 1st time: Understand story.
- 2nd time: Underline KEY POINTS with pencil.
KEY POINT = Something that answers: WHO? WHAT? WHY? WHEN? HOW?
EXAMPLE: “Poverty forced children to drop out of school” = KEY POINT ✅
EXAMPLE: “The sun was shining” = NOT KEY POINT ❌

STEP 2: JUMP 🦗
Like grasshopper, JUMP over small details.
SKIP: Examples, stories, names of people, dates.
KEEP: Main ideas only.
REMEMBER: ZimSEC wants 5-6 points only for 80 words.

STEP 3: WRITE ✍️
Use YOUR OWN WORDS. Never copy sentence from passage.
BAD: “The government failed to provide enough schools.” [Copied]
GOOD: “Government did not build enough schools.” [Own words]
TIP: Use connectors: Also, However, Therefore, Finally.

STEP 4: COUNT 🔢
Count your words. Must be 80-90 words.
UNDER 80 = You missed points = Lose marks
OVER 90 = You added rubbish = Lose marks
TIP: 1 line = ~10 words. So 8-9 lines only.

P = POINT: State the main idea
A = ACTION: What happened because of it
P = PROBLEM: What was the difficulty
A = ACTION TAKEN: What was done about it
Use PAPA to find 4 key points fast.
