Cohabitation sometimes helps people understand whether they are truly compatible before marriage.

In fact, if you ask me, I would recommend it in some cases because it can reveal habits, expectations, and values that dating alone may not uncover.

There's a couple whose story I came across on TikTok.

They got divorced just three weeks after their wedding.

What happened?

Both of them were working-class professionals. One evening, the wife served her husband food and brought him water to wash his hands afterward.

After eating, the husband asked for soap. The wife replied that she was busy in the kitchen and that he could simply get the soap himself.

The husband got upset, washed his hands without soap, and went straight to bed.

I've been disturbing him to get me a watch that will fit my outfit for my birthday photoshoot, but son of man kept insisting that I should use the one I already have because "there's no money."

Anytime I brought up the watch matter, I received the same answer, so I quietly gave up.

Last night, I was sleeping—or rather half asleep—while he was pressing his phone. I opened my eyes slightly and saw him viewing one lady's pictures and liking them one after the other.

I didn't see the lady's face clearly, but I noticed she was wearing a red dress and the pictures looked like studio shots.

I smiled and went back to sleep.
This morning, I brought up the watch matter again and, as expected, he gave me the same answer.

So I said:

"That lady whose pictures you were viewing last night as if you wanted to enter into her soul, wasn't she wearing a watch?"

Oga kept quiet.

Then he tried to deny it.

"Winnie, you have come again. Which picture?"

I laughed and decided to exaggerate a bit.

"My guy, I saw you. You were admiring her pictures and liking them one after the other. The lady's husband gave her money for a photoshoot and bought her a watch. You're busy liking the pictures, but when it's time to buy your own wife a watch so she'll look good too, you start playing logic. Don't worry, I see your every move. The lady was wearing red abi? I saw it."

He burst out laughing.

"That was my coursemate from school. She's even a mother of three and i only liked the picture."

I just stared at him.

"That one is your concern. I have said my own."

"But I'm the one that paid for your birthday outfit..."

"That one is also your concern. I saw the way you were zooming the pictures. Chai! Men!"

Son of man sighed.

"Okay, I will buy the watch."

Me, I didn't reply him. I just continued staring until he left for work.
