𩞠What to Expect When Youâre Expecting
SPOTTING IN EARLY PEGNANCY
You notice a bit of blood. Your heart skips a beat.
But hereâs the truth: spotting in the first trimester is commonâand often not a cause for alarm.
Hereâs why it might happen:
đč Implantation bleedingâwhen the pregnancy settles into the uterus
đč Hormone changesâespecially around the cervix
đč After a scan or intercourseâbecause the area has more blood flow now
đč Brown spotting? Thatâs usually old blood, not fresh bleeding
đĄ So when should you worry?
If itâs just a few drops, no pain, and goes away quicklyâitâs usually okay.
But if itâs heavy, keeps coming, or comes with crampsâplease check in with your doctor.
Pregnancy can be full of surprises. Letâs talk about them openly, without fear or shame.

SIBO â The Hidden Cause Behind Your Bloating? đż
Do you often feel bloated, gassy, or uncomfortable after meals â even when you eat healthy?
It might not just be âindigestion.â It could be SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).
In SIBO, bacteria that normally live in the large intestine move into the small intestine, where they ferment food prematurely â leading to:
đš Excess gas
đŁ Abdominal pain and bloating
đ Food intolerances
Did you know?
SIBO tends to affect women more than men. Hormonal fluctuations, slower gut motility, and conditions like thyroid disorders, PCOS, and IBS all increase the risk.
đ If youâve been struggling with chronic bloating or âIBS-likeâ symptoms, donât ignore them â get yourself evaluated for SIBO.
Early diagnosis can make all the difference.

đ€± What to Expect When Youâre Expecting
âIs My Baby Moving Enough?â
You feel a flutter.
Then a kick.
Then⊠nothing for hours.
And suddenly, youâre Googling at 2 a.m., wondering if somethingâs wrong.
Letâs pause. Letâs breathe. Letâs talk about fetal movementâwithout panic, without guesswork.
đĄ When does movement begin?
Most people feel the first flutters between 18â22 weeksâespecially in first pregnancies. It might feel like bubbles, butterflies, or gentle taps.
đĄ Is it normal for movement to be irregular?
Yesâespecially early on. Babies sleep in cycles, and their movements vary day to day. What matters most is your babyâs unique rhythm, not a textbook number.
đĄ When should I be concerned?
In the third trimester, movements should become more consistent. If you notice a sudden drop in activity, or if something just feels âoff,â trust your instincts and reach out to your OB-GYN.
đĄ Can I track movement?
Absolutely. Many providers recommend kick counts later in pregnancyâlike noting 10 movements within 2 hours. But early on, itâs more about noticing patterns than counting kicks.
Pregnancy is full of quiet questions.
Letâs answer them with clarity, not fear.
Letâs normalize the waiting, the wondering, and the what-ifs.

- đ List current meds and supplements
- â Be ready to discuss why you want to postpone (travel, rituals, exams)
âSave this before your next consultâit helps your doctor help you.â
â ïž Self-medicating to delay your period can backfire.
Think: breakthrough bleeding, hormonal imbalance, or masking PCOS/endometriosis.

HPV Vaccination Isnât Just for TeensâItâs a Missed Opportunity for Adult Women
Letâs be clear: cervical cancer is preventable. Yet thousands of women delay or dismiss the HPV vaccine, believing itâs âtoo lateâ or ânot relevant.â That misconception is costing lives.
The HPV vaccine protects against the strains most likely to cause cervical, vaginal, vulvar, and a**l cancers. Itâs recommended up to age 26âand in some cases, even beyond. For women who missed it in adolescence, adult vaccination is still a powerful step toward long-term reproductive health.
In my clinic, Iâve seen how early vaccination reduces abnormal Pap results, prevents invasive procedures, and offers peace of mind. But Iâve also seen how stigma, silence, and outdated beliefs keep women from accessing this protection.
Itâs time to change the narrative.
HPV vaccination should be part of routine gynecologic careâjust like breast exams and Pap smears. It should be discussed in HR wellness programs, school health policies, and every OB-GYN consult. Because prevention isnât just clinicalâitâs cultural.
If youâre a woman under 26, or a healthcare leader shaping policy, this is your cue: protect your future. Normalize the conversation. Advocate for access.
