Can you reduce the weight… without losing the length?”

This is one of the most common requests I hear behind the chair.

Many stylists want to bolt out the back door when a curly hair client sits in their chair.

I start by asking myself these questions.

➡️ Where do I want the shortest layer to sit?

➡️ How much density do I want to create?

➡️ How do I create shape and volume without sacrificing the length?

For this haircut, Georgia wanted maximum volume while keeping the strength through the baseline.

That meant using an increased layer with a very deliberate change of angle.

✔️ A flatter angle through the back to maintain balance.

✔️ A steeper angle through the sides where there’s naturally less bulk.

✔️ A strong baseline to support damaged ends.

Every section has a purpose.

Every angle changes the result.

This isn’t about memorising haircuts.

It’s about understanding the fundamental cutting techniques behind them so you can create any haircut on any client with confidence.

That’s the difference between copying a haircut...

…and designing one.

👇 Have you ever struggled to create layers without making the ends look thin?

Save this Reel so you can come back to it before your next long-layer curly client.

Comment MASTER if you’d like to learn the thinking behind every haircut—not just another formula.

For a long time, the only way to learn Cut Like a Master was through Live Mentorship.

Small groups.
Limited places.
High level support.

Which creates incredible results —
but also meant not every stylist could access it.

So we changed that.

Cut Like a Master is now delivered in two distinct learning formats.

Cut Like a Master: Foundations

For stylists who want to rebuild their haircutting foundations properly and develop real control behind the chair — at their own pace.

Cut Like a Master: Live Mentorship

For those ready to accelerate their path to mastery with guidance, feedback and accountability with our incredible online community ‘Masters in the making’.

The education is the same.
The standard is the same.

The difference…
is the level of support you choose.

For those starting with Foundations,
there is a clear pathway into Live Mentorship
when you’re ready to take it further.

Live Mentorship applications are now open.

Next round begins May 11.

Most stylists think confidence comes from doing more.

It doesn’t.

It comes from understanding the tools and techniques that sit behind every haircut.

Because when that foundation is in placeeverything starts to make sense.

You’re not rushing to get through the haircut.
You’re not second-guessing every move.

You’re seeing what’s happeningand responding with intention and control.

You’re not copying others —you’re creating from a solid foundation.

That’s what the 5T System is designed to build.
ClarityControland the ability to make better decisions as you work.

This is where consistency actually comes from.

Cut Like a Master is now delivered in two distinct learning formats, so more stylists can access this education.

Tomorrow I’ll announce how you can access them both.

Most stylists aren’t struggling because they lack skill.

They’re struggling because they’ve only been shown
what to do—not why they are doing it

So when something changes—there’s nothing solid to rely on
That’s when results start to feel inconsistenteven when the effort is there

Because without structure—you’re piecing things together as you go
And that always leads back to guessing

Consistency doesn’t come from doing moreit comes from understanding what actually controls the result

Cut Like a Master is now delivered in two distinct learning formats so more stylists can access this education

I’ll walk you through it in a couple of days.

Most stylists are taught how to do a haircut—step by step.

Very few are taught how to understand what they are actually doing and why.

That’s the difference.

Because when you understand what’s happening
you’re no longer relying on muscle memory to get through the haircut

When you understand fundamental cutting techniques, you can adapt and make decisions as you go

That’s when you can start tailoring cuts for your client—not make your client fit the haircut

And it’s where real creativity comes from

Cut Like a Master is now delivered in two distinct ways, so more stylists can access this education

I’ll be talking about these two pathways next week

16/04/2026

Most stylists don’t realise how much their work is being shaped by their own limitation.

Not by choice — but by staying inside the bounds of the tool they feel most comfortable using

Over time
that comfort turns into habit

And habit starts to define the result

That’s when creativity feels like it’s shrinking
even though skill is still there

Because without understanding how different tools behave — you’re not choosing the result

You’re defaulting to it

This is where safe cutting starts to take over

And most stylists don’t even see it happening

Cut Like a Master is now delivered in two distinct formats, so more stylists can break free from limitations

I’ll be talking about these two options in the next few days.

15/04/2026

Most stylists think confidence comes with time.
It doesn’t.

It comes from understanding what you’re doing
and why it’s working.

Until that’s in place —
you can’t adapt when something changes.

That’s where most stylists get stuck.

Not because they lack ability
—but because they’ve never been shown how hair works.

Cut Like a Master is now delivered in two learning formats, so more stylists can access this education.

I’ll talk more about that over the coming days.

14/04/2026

After our first, incredible, Live Mentorship round of Cut Like a Master — yes, it was a big one — we’ve been working hard behind the scenes because we saw an opportunity to make this education accessible to more stylists.

There are now TWO ways to experience Cut Like a Master. Stay tuned for more over the coming days. Link in bio.
