October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀💛

Breast cancer is such a significant part of the reason Chemo Crowns exists.

Around 1 in 7 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and every person’s experience through diagnosis, treatment, hair loss and recovery is different.

For many women, chemotherapy-related hair loss can be one of the most visible and emotional parts of treatment. Then when the hair begins to grow back, that stage can come with a whole new set of emotions too.

The beautiful women featured in this carousel have each been through their own breast cancer journey, and I feel incredibly privileged to have been a small part of helping them feel more like themselves again as their hair grew back. 💛

This month is about awareness, early detection, support and reminding women to know what is normal for their own breasts. If you notice a new or unusual change, please have it checked by a health professional.

To every woman currently in treatment, recovering, rebuilding, supporting someone they love, or remembering someone special — this month is for you. 🎀

Today I had the absolute privilege of being invited to the St Andrew’s Breast Care Lunch for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💛 St Andrew’s Hospital, Adelaide

What an incredible room to be part of, around 100 women, many with their own journeys through breast cancer, alongside doctors, nurses and businesses who all play a part in helping women feel more like themselves again after everything they’ve been through.

We shared a beautiful lunch, listened to some incredibly moving stories and, for the very first time, I was able to showcase Chemo Crowns outside of social media and share another option for women growing their hair back after chemotherapy.

I also need to give a very special shoutout to the three beautiful women in this photo.

Aleisha Michael Aliesha from Pink Lotus Australia Pink Lotus Australia.. Frim the beginning of Chemo Crowns, you saw me and you have understood my vision and shared it alongside the beautiful work you do with ar**la tattooing. You have helped get my foot in the door and given me opportunities to share what I offer with women experiencing hair loss after chemotherapy, not only through breast cancer but through all cancer journeys.

My Rosanna 💛 Adelaide curly hair specialist Hosting me at Semaphore, my friend, hand-holder, professional talker when I need her to be 😂 and without a doubt one of my biggest cheerleaders. You have backed me through all of this and I’m so grateful to have you beside me.

And of course Lucy 💛 luce You were one of the women who wore and trialled the Chemo Crown system, and now you stand beside me as my admin support, helping with all the behind-the-scenes work so I can stay focused on what I love most — being a hairdresser and creating beautiful transformations.

Today felt like a really special milestone for Chemo Crowns & Hair Loss Systems, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped me get it to this point.

Happy birthday to our gorgeous Rosanna 💛

The woman who hosts our Semaphore location, my biggest cheerleader and someone who has become such a huge part of the “Chemo Crowns & Hair loss “ journey.

One of the best decisions I made was bringing “Chemo Crowns & Hair loss” to Semaphore and having Rosanna by my side. Without her support, encouragement, advice and constant belief in what I’m creating, I honestly don’t think I would have grown anywhere near as much as I have.

She doesn’t just give me a beautiful space to work from — she backs me, inspires me and is always there for every new idea (and there are A LOT 😂).

And now we’re about to take things one step further… 👀

Rosanna and I will soon be going into business together and launching something very exciting, created to work alongside what I do with my hair loss clients, but also made for every hair journey. ☺️
