Mind Body Practitioner & Clinical Aromatherapist
Supporting women with nervous system regulation, stress relief, and body-based wellbeing.

https://bit.ly/CelestialAromaticsBookings My journey into the world of Clinical Aromatherapy was inspired by a powerful combination of personal experiences and a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on the well-being of others. It all began when my young son battled severe eczema, and I found solace in massage treatments and aromatherapy while navigating the demands of a stressful job. In 2012, it struck me that I had an innate calling to help not only my family but also my friends and the broader community. This realization led me to embark on a part-time journey of education and exploration. By 2015, I had successfully completed my qualifications, becoming a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist. This was a pivotal moment that marked the birth of my business venture, one that I pursued alongside my husband, Craig, who is the owner of Ethereal Holistic Massage. Together, we ventured into the realm of the Complementary Health industry. Over the years, I've continued to expand my expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including Therapeutic Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Infant Massage, and Aromatherapy consultations. My commitment to enhancing well-being has driven me to acquire additional qualifications in Reiki, CranioSacral Therapy, Ear Candling, as well as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy. For me, holistic therapy isn't just a profession; it's a way of life and a heartfelt passion. Every day, I witness the remarkable benefits of these therapies and their transformative impact on our clients' lives. My approach is proactive and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to be empowered to lead a joyful life while effectively managing the stresses it may bring. My mission is succinctly captured in the motto: "Empowering your well-being and quality of life." Join me on this comprehensive journey towards a happier, more balanced life, where your well-being takes center stage. Together, we can embrace the power of holistic therapies, NLP, and Hypnotherapy to help you live your best life.

One of the things I love about Manual Lymphatic Drainage is that people come to it for so many different reasons.

Some people are experiencing swelling or that heavy, puffy feeling.

Some are recovering after surgery and have been advised that lymphatic support may be helpful as part of their recovery.

Others spend long hours sitting or standing and simply feel as though their body isn't moving and flowing as well as they'd like.

And then there are clients who are surprised by just how relaxing such a gentle treatment can feel.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage uses light, rhythmic movements to support the natural movement of lymphatic fluid through the body.

It's very different from a traditional massage, and it doesn't need to be deep or forceful.

What I particularly enjoy is that while there are principles behind the treatment, I'm still working with the person in front of me and what their body needs that day.

If you've been wondering whether Manual Lymphatic Drainage might be suitable for you, you're always welcome to message me with your questions.

Change doesn't always look dramatic.

Sometimes it's noticing something a little sooner than you used to.

Catching yourself before automatically saying yes.

Recognising that your mind is going around in circles and choosing one thing to focus on.

Feeling tension in your body and realising you've been pushing through again.

Or noticing an old reaction beginning and giving yourself a moment before responding.

Over the past few weeks I've been talking a lot about awareness and patterns.

And I think this is an important part of that conversation.

We can recognise a pattern and still repeat it.

The change isn't necessarily that we suddenly become perfect at responding differently.

Sometimes the change is that there's now a moment where we notice.

And in that moment, we have an opportunity that perhaps we didn't have before.

Choice.

Real and lasting change begins with awareness. πŸ’œ

Manual Lymphatic Drainage doesn't need to feel deep or forceful to be effective.

In fact, one of the things that often surprises new clients is just how gentle the treatment feels.

The lymphatic system sits close to the surface, so Manual Lymphatic Drainage uses light, rhythmic movements designed to support lymphatic flow.

Clients often come to me because they're feeling puffy or heavy, experiencing swelling, recovering after surgery, or simply feel as though their body could use some gentle support.

And quite often, there's another thing they notice during the treatment.

They relax.

There's something about slowing everything down and allowing the body to receive gentle, repetitive touch that many of my clients find deeply calming.

Sometimes you don't need another thing to think about.

You just need a few minutes to stop.

When your mind is busy, you're moving from one thing to the next, or everything feels like it's demanding your attention at once, even a few quiet minutes can help create a little space.

That's why I created my 3-Minute Instant Calm audio.

It's a short guided audio you can use when you want to pause, settle and give yourself a few minutes where nothing else needs your attention.

You don't need any special setup. Find somewhere comfortable, press play and give yourself three minutes.

πŸ’œ It's free.

β€œI didn't realise how much tension I was holding until I started to relax.”

I've heard versions of this from several clients in my treatment room lately.

Sometimes when we've been carrying tension for a while, we don't necessarily notice it anymore. It can simply become how our body feels.

Then we finally stop.

We become still.
We begin to relax.

And suddenly we notice the contrast.

It's one of the reasons I believe becoming more aware of what our body is telling us can be so valuable.

You don't always have to immediately do something about what you notice.

Sometimes noticing is the first step. πŸ’œ

Becoming aware of a pattern doesn't mean you'll never do it again.

I think sometimes we expect that once we've recognised something about ourselves, we should immediately be able to change it.

I know I do this. So why am I still doing it?

But awareness isn't an on/off switch.

Sometimes the first change is simply noticing sooner.

Maybe you recognise that you're becoming overwhelmed before you snap.

You notice yourself about to say yes when you really want to say no.

You realise your mind is going around in circles instead of getting anything done.

Or you catch yourself pushing through when your body is asking you to stop.

And that's where something different becomes possible.

Maybe you pause before answering.

Maybe you step away for a moment.

Maybe you choose one thing instead of trying to solve everything at once.

Maybe you simply ask yourself, What do I need right now?

It doesn't mean you'll respond differently every time.

But the earlier we recognise what's happening, the more opportunity we have to choose what happens next.

Calm creates clarity. And clarity creates choice. πŸ’œ

Sometimes you don't realise just how much you're holding until you finally stop.

You lie down on the treatment table.

There's nowhere you need to be for the next hour.
Nothing you need to organise.
Nobody you need to answer.

And gradually, you begin to let go.

That's one of the things I love about Aromatherapy Massage.

Your treatment isn't about rushing through a set routine. I tailor the massage and essential oil blend to you, taking into account how you're feeling, what you're experiencing and what you need from your treatment that day.

For some women, it's simply an opportunity to stop and deeply relax.

For others, it's only when they finally become still that they realise how much they've been pushing through.

Either way, sometimes an hour where nothing else needs your attention can be exactly what you need. πŸ’œ

When we notice ourselves doing something we'd like to change, our first thought can be:

How do I stop doing this?

But I believe there's another question worth asking first:

Why might this keep showing up for me?

Not as an excuse for our behaviour.

And not because every reaction needs to be analysed endlessly.

But because it's difficult to change something we don't really understand.

Maybe the next time you notice yourself falling into a familiar response, instead of immediately telling yourself to stop, pause for a moment.

Become curious.

What was happening for me?
What was I feeling?
What did I need?

You may not have the answer immediately.

But even asking the question can move us from automatically reacting to becoming more aware of what's happening.

And with awareness comes the opportunity for choice. πŸ’œ

Sometimes the behaviour isn't the whole story.

One of my favourite parts of working with clients is seeing the difference between how someone arrives for their treatment and how they feel when they leave.

I was reminded of that again with a client on Saturday.

She had come in for Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and as the treatment progressed I could feel her body gradually settling under my hands.

Her breathing changed.

Her body softened.

She became deeply relaxed.

And afterwards, hearing just how different she felt reminded me again why I love this work.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle treatment. The movements are slow, light and rhythmic, working with the lymphatic system rather than using the deeper pressure people sometimes expect from massage.

And that gentleness can be surprising if you've never experienced lymphatic drainage before.

For me, it's one of those treatments where gentle doesn't mean that nothing is happening.

It's also why each treatment is individualised. I work with the person in front of me, what they're experiencing and what their body needs on the day.

Most of us don't need another person telling us that self-care is important.

We already know.

We know rest matters.

We know constantly pushing through isn't necessarily helping us.

We know there are times when we need to stop, say no or make some time for ourselves.

So why can it still be so difficult to actually do it?

That's the part I'm much more interested in.

Sometimes we've developed expectations and patterns around being capable, getting everything done or being the person others can rely on.

And slowing down before everything is finished can actually feel uncomfortable.

My September blog explores this more deeply:

πŸ’œ Why High-Achieving Women Find It Hard to Slow Down

If you've ever thought, β€œI know I need to slow down, but…” this one might be worth a read.

I'll pop the link in the comments.
