When Luna first came to Muscles & More, she was a little anxious.

Because of an incident earlier in her life, she wasn't comfortable having her legs handled. Even gentle touch made her uneasy.

Trust isn't something you can ask for.

It's something you earn.

Session by session, Luna learnt that Muscles & More was a safe place. A place where her body was listened to, respected and cared for.

These days, she happily settles in for her sessions, relaxes into my hands and allows me to work with her body.

One of the biggest signs of how far she's come is that we're now able to trim her front nails, something that hadn't been possible before.

We're still working towards all four feet, but every little step is a win.

𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡

For many years I have referred clients to Dr Rob Willis and trusted him with the care of their dogs.

Recently, we welcomed Rob's Veterinary to Muscles & More and I finally had the opportunity to see him work with one of my own dogs, Tucker.

It was lovely to watch Tucker relax under Rob's calm and gentle approach. She received acupuncture along with some gentle adjustments using an Activator instrument.

What made me smile most was Tucker herself.

This cheeky girl took quite a shine to Rob.

She sat in front of him, pulled his hands back towards her when he stopped, and kept looking at me as if to say,

"Mum, I really like this fella."

By the end of the appointment she was happily soaking up the attention and behaving as though she'd known him for years.

Thank you, Rob, for taking the time to help my girl.

Over the years we have referred many dogs between our services, always with the shared goal of achieving the best outcome for the dog.

It was wonderful to finally meet in person and see firsthand the calm, kind approach that has earned Rob the trust of so many owners.

💚🐾 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗬 🐾💚

I always look forward to Holly's monthly visit.

Her mum often tells me she knows when it's nearly time for another session. About a week before she's due, Holly starts to slow down a little and becomes less comfortable. It's her way of letting everyone know her appointment is coming up.

If you'd met Holly when she first started coming to Muscles & More, you would hardly believe she's the same dog today.

She has become quite the character and, if we're being honest, a bit of a queen in the clinic.

Every bed is apparently her bed. She chooses whichever one she likes, makes herself comfortable, then wanders over and hops onto the therapy table all by herself when she's ready.

No invitation required.

Just a quiet little,

"Righto Janine, let's get started."

Watching dogs like Holly continue to enjoy life, stay comfortable and keep doing the things they love is one of the best parts of my job.

And she still makes me smile every single visit. 💚🐾

Many years ago, Jan from Tamsala Basenjis challenged me to see what I could do with Danny.

It still cracks me up thinking about it.

More than 12 years later I'm still working with the Tamsala dogs and still part of the team.

The team may be a little smaller these days, but I still cherish the challenge of those cheeky Basenjis.

Not bad for a challenge that started with one Basenji. 😄

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 💚🐾

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is noticing the little changes.

Not every change is about movement, flexibility or mobility.

Sometimes it's a dog becoming more comfortable with the treatment process.

Over the last few sessions, I've watched Dougal settle a little more each visit.

This week, he quietly shuffled himself around, rested his back against me and settled right in.

It might seem like a small thing, but moments like that always make me smile.

The little things matter. 💚🐾

Every now and then someone jokes that I "steal" their dogs.

The truth is, they have a choice.

At 5:30 in the morning I open the car door and they willingly jump in.

No dragging.

No forcing.

No convincing.

They know exactly where they're going.

They spend the morning hanging out with their mates, snoozing between appointments, enjoying their own treatment session, collecting pats and attention, and being part of the little Muscles & More crew.

One of the best parts of the day is seeing Tucker, Midge, Scout and Rebel head out together.

Watching them race around, play, explore and simply enjoy being dogs always makes me smile.

By the time they get home, they're usually exhausted and fall straight asleep.

To me, that's a pretty good sign they've. had a great day.

And honestly, I think that's the best review I could ask for. 💚🐾
