Toombul Barber

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our founder, John Scavarelli.

A loving husband to Teresa, father to Luisa and Anna, and a dear friend and business partner to Vince, John will be greatly missed by all within our community. We will continue to honour and celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

John passed away peacefully on 20 May 2026 at the age of 90. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing John would know the genuine love and passion he had for Toombul Barber and for every one of his customers.

John founded Toombul Barber on 10 October 1967 and became the longest-standing tenant at the Toombul Shopping Centre before later relocating the business to Ascot.

Everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating John’s life at 10:30am on Monday 1 June, at Holy Cross Catholic Church Wooloowin.

So nice to see one of our regulars Cliff, visit us for the first time today since Toombul Flooded. He took Vince for a spin in his Hot Rod Wheels that took him 3 years to build. Vince thought he was doing to die!!! 😂 So glad you finally found us Cliff. Look forward to seeing you again soon.🏎️🏁💈💇‍♂️
