My First Yapping Attempt 🎥

Okay, this is my first attempt at the Yapping series! 😂 I was late to the game and didn’t get to do the course, but I’ve been binge-watching Jessie Jean’s videos and I absolutely love what she’s created. I’ve also been watching so many creators doing their own version of the series, and what I love most is that the best ones aren’t just creating for views. They’re actually sharing value and helping people. And that really changed my mindset.

So I’m going to be more intentional with my content. I’m not chasing virality or follower numbers. If I can help even one person on the other side of the screen, I’m genuinely happy.

Because I keep getting messages from friends saying, “Ellin, I really want to create content, but I’m not confident enough. I’m scared of being judged. I’m nervous. I want to share my story, but I don’t even know where to start.”

And THAT is who I want to create this for.

Not the professional creators who already know what they’re doing. I want to help the person who is starting from zero and needs someone to say, “Okay, let’s make this less scary.”

We’re going to talk about the basics: how to film, how to edit, how to use Instagram Edits, maybe CapCut too because that’s what I actually use for my foodie videos, how to talk naturally on camera, how to find content ideas and, most importantly, how to actually START.

This is just my first little experiment, so we’ll see where it goes. 😂 But if this sounds like you, come along for the ride.

And I think this is the bigger reason I started creating content in the first place. I’m passionate about food, discovering amazing places and helping small Brisbane businesses get discovered.

So maybe this is just the next chapter of that.

I went to fill up petrol at 7-Eleven Australia yesterday and thought I was putting in $35 worth… 🤣

Turns out I read the meter wrong. It was 35 L, not $35. So instead of $35, I paid $75. 😭🤣

I felt SO bad, but the lovely 7-Eleven team were so nice about it. 🥹

I was rushing to meet my sister for lunch and clearly my brain had already clocked off. Should’ve gone to Specsavers Australia just like what Uncle C | Food & Experiences suggested🤓

Anyway… $75 worth of petrol later, I’ve been humbled. 😂

Meet Myah. 💛 A little girl with an enormous heart and an even bigger spirit.

At such a young age, Myah has already faced something no child should have to go through. She survived ovarian cancer, and through it all, she continues to bring so much joy, kindness and light to everyone around her. 🥹💛

Yesterday, Myah set up her lemonade stand Coffee shop| Brisbane cafe | Brisbane Northside’s Best Cafe 2024 in Nundah and raised an incredible $2,000 in just a few hours! 🍋👏

But what makes this even more special isn’t just the money she raised. It’s the heart behind it.

Watching Myah smile, serve lemonade and connect with everyone who stopped by was such a beautiful reminder that courage can come in the smallest packages. 🍋✨
