We’re enjoying the winter sunshine streaming into the salon today ☀️

I’ll be at Y Schools Northlakes junior campus this term delivering a 5 week hairdressing immersion experience for years 7 - 9. I love what Y schools creates and delivers for their students. Truly special educators delivers engaged and interested students. So wonderful to be part of these young people’s journey. 🙏♥️

How awesome are !!?? Investing in care for their students that’s wholistic AND complimentary. Thrilled to be asked to co-create this pilot program of self care for students. I’ll be taking care of people across three campuses in the coming months and the impact that has for them is always more than ‘just a haircut’. Thanks team Griffith Uni for being awesome. 👏🏻

Community Cuts Cambodia, in partnership with A21 Cambodia, was such a special day. Together, we provided more than 100 haircuts and delivered all of your generous donations to this beautiful community.

A heartfelt thank you to the A21 team, the village pastor, and the local community for welcoming us so warmly. Your kindness and hospitality made the day truly memorable.

To everyone who donated, thank you. Your generosity made a real difference, and I am incredibly grateful for your support. Every contribution helped bring practical assistance, connection, and care to those who needed it most.

Our Handle with Care appointments for our little friends of lavelle will be available on the last Sunday of each month from 1pm - 5pm. Bookings will be essential.

A message for our families ♥️🙏

Dear Families,

Due to the unexpected restructure of Lavelle Hair, it is with a heavy heart that we will no longer be able to accommodate standard children’s haircut appointments from 18 July onwards.

For the past 16 years, our youngest clients have been a valued and much-loved part of the salon. It has been a genuine privilege to watch so many children grow up in our chairs, and I am incredibly grateful for the trust you have placed in me and my team to care for them.

As many of you know, I have the privilege of supporting a many children, teens and adults with ASD, disability, mental health challenges and other additional needs. Creating a safe, understanding and accommodating environment for these clients is something I care deeply about.

At present, my appointment availability is extremely limited, and I want to ensure that those who need this specialised support most urgently are able to access it. For this reason, I will be reviewing children’s appointment requests and prioritising clients based on their individual needs and circumstances.

I understand that every family and every client faces unique challenges, and I ask for your patience and understanding as I navigate this process with as much fairness, care and compassion as possible.

Please note that while we will no longer be offering standard children’s haircut appointments, children remain very welcome in the salon when accompanying their parents to appointments. We love seeing our salon families and look forward to continuing to welcome you all through our doors.

Thank you for your understanding and support as I navigate this restructure. Most importantly, thank you for allowing us to be part of your family’s journey over the years. It has truly been an honour. Please do reach out to me if you have any questions at all.

Our final standard children’s haircut appointments will be on 18 July.

If you have an existing future booking past this date, I will of course be honoring that booking, if you so wish, and will be in contact with you soon to reschedule from Susie’s diary to mine.

It is with both gratitude and sadness that we say goodbye to Susie after an incredible 11 years at Lavelle Hair.

What an absolute honour it has been to have Susie as part of our salon family for more than a decade. While we will all miss her terribly, we are so excited for her as she embarks on a new career path outside of hairdressing.

As we all process this significant change for Lavelle Hair, I want to reassure Susie’s valued clients that my top priority is to contact each of you regarding your future appointments and make any necessary arrangements. I will be in touch as soon as possible, and I sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

We are also incredibly grateful to Susie for so generously staying on and helping keep everything running smoothly until I return from my Hair Aid project in Cambodia.

Thank you, Susie, for your loyalty, dedication, friendship, and the countless lives you’ve touched over the past 11 years. It has truly been a privilege to work alongside you, and we wish you every success and happiness in this exciting new chapter.
