“I need exfoliation.”

But when I look at the skin, I may see dehydration and a barrier that needs support first.

Or someone may be worried about oiliness when the skin underneath is actually lacking hydration.

That's why I don't like treating a concern simply because of the name we've given it.

I look at what your skin is doing today.

Its hydration.
Its texture.
Its sensitivity.
Its congestion.
Its barrier.
And what you've been doing at home.

Then we decide what makes sense.

Sometimes that's an advanced treatment.

Sometimes it's something very gentle.

And occasionally, the best thing we can do is less.

MICRONEEDLING — THE RESULTS DON'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT

One of the things I explain before Microneedling is that we're not chasing an instant result.

Microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin, encouraging its natural repair response and supporting collagen production.

And collagen takes time.

That's why Microneedling is better thought of as a skin journey rather than a quick fix.

It can be used when we're working on concerns such as:

OILY SKIN CAN STILL BE DEHYDRATED. 💧

This surprises a lot of people.

Dry skin and dehydrated skin aren't quite the same thing.

Dehydrated skin is lacking water, which means even skin that produces plenty of oil can still feel:

• tight after cleansing
• dull or tired
• rough in places
• suddenly more sensitive
• oily on the surface but uncomfortable underneath

And when that happens, stripping away more oil isn't necessarily the answer.

Sometimes we need to concentrate on hydration and barrier support instead.

It's one of the reasons we look at the condition of your skin rather than simply putting it into an “oily” or “dry” box.
