🏃Thinking about starting running? Read this first🏃‍♀️

Running is one of the most accessible forms of exercise—but it’s also one of the easiest to overdo when you’re just starting out.

As an Exercise Physiologist, these are the five things I wish every new runner knew:
✅ Slow down—easy runs build your aerobic base and reduce injury risk.
✅ Strength train-strong muscles and tendons make better runners.
✅ Progress gradually-your fitness improves faster than your body’s tissues

them.
✅ Prioritise recovery—your body gets stronger between sessions, not during
✅ Don’t chase perfect technique-find a running style that works for your body.

Remember, the goal isn’t to run the furthest or the fastest on day one-it’s to still be running six months from now.

Whether your goal is your first 5 km, a half marathon, or simply improving your health, building a solid foundation will always outperform rushing the process.

PCOS ➡️ PMOS

It’s more than a name change—it’s about recognising that this condition is far more than “cysts on the ovaries.” Better understanding leads to better conversations, better treatment, and better outcomes. 💚

Australians shouldn’t be paying tax on essential healthcare, but right now, they do.

Exercise physiologists are essential to help people manage conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and mental illness. But there’s a catch: it’s still taxed.

Under current legislation, exercise physiology is still subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST). That means Australians pay an extra 10% every time they see an exercise physiologist.

What this means

Higher costs for patients managing chronic illness and injury
Barriers to access for vulnerable communities
Disincentives to use effective, preventive care
