What does a team trip actually do for a salon?
For me, itās about giving the girls more than what they can learn inside the salon.
We spent three days in Melbourne for the LāOrĆ©al Pro Business Forum, with the girls joining me for colour education with Marie-Anne Labrie, KIRBY LAGO - SYDNEY COLOURIST and KAINE VAKAI HAIR .
Getting them around people who love this industry. Watching incredible colourists work. Seeing different techniques and hearing different ways of thinking about hair.
It gives them a chance to connect with the industry outside our salon and see what else is out there for them.
While they were taking in the colour side, I was deep in the business sessions. AI and tech, branding, social media, consultation, leadership and client experience with NADIA BARTEL from Henne, Sharlene and Jess Marie Del Borrello- Circles of Hair from Circles, Kaine and more!
But I also wanted them to actually enjoy being away together.
Monday was theirs to hang out, relax and explore Melbourne while I was in the business sessions.
We all went to the cocktail party on the first night, then for the networking party I took Cassie and Tansie with me while the rest of the girls had dinner and enjoyed some time together.
Because it doesnāt all have to be education to be valuable.
They got to learn, connect with the industry, spend time together and come home with their own ideas about what they want to do next.
Thatās why I take them.
I want them to keep learning. I want them to see whatās out there. And I want them excited about where this industry can take them.
And really, who wouldnāt want to spend time together with this group?
