For this client, that had become part of living with vitiligo.
Large areas of pigment loss were scattered across both lower legs. Against their naturally deeper skin tone, the contrast was significant. People noticed, people stared, and over time it affected their confidence. It also carried personal and cultural significance.
They weren’t looking for perfection. They wanted the choice to feel less defined by their skin.
Once the vitiligo was confirmed as stable, medical approval was obtained and a test patch healed successfully, we began working slowly in sections.
Vitiligo skin can respond to pigment differently, so every healed result guides the next session.
We are now approximately three sessions into the process, with around two remaining. Some areas are already blending almost seamlessly, and the skin is becoming less reactive with each session.
The photographs show different sections and stages of this journey—and the transformation so far is remarkable.

This case study shows historic self-injury scarring after one exosome-supported texture refinement treatment.
The visible differences include:
• Reduced white-to-skin contrast
• Softer, less defined scar edges
• Flatter and more refined-looking texture
• Less shine and light reflection from the scar tissue
• A smoother transition into the surrounding skin
• A more even overall appearance
• The individual lines appearing less visually dominant

🔥 AN ACID BURN can change more than the skin. It can change how a person feels when the world looks back.
When a chemical burn damages the cells responsible for producing melanin, the healed skin may be left significantly lighter than the surrounding area. It can also behave differently in its texture, thickness, sensitivity and ability to retain pigment.
Camouflage tattooing does not erase the scar.
It uses carefully selected pigment to reduce the contrast between the scar and the surrounding skin, helping the area sit more quietly within the face.
And that is far more complex than choosing a “skin coloured” pigment.
Natural skin contains warmth, coolness, translucency and subtle variations in tone. Facial colour also shifts with circulation, temperature and sun exposure, while scar tissue can accept and heal pigment differently.
Once the scar is fully healed and stable, I assess the surrounding undertones and create customised pigment blends to mimic those natural variations.
The colour is introduced gradually and conservatively. Each layer must be allowed to heal before deciding what the skin needs next.
The goal is not one flat block of colour.
It is to soften the visible interruption while preserving the natural variation that makes skin look like skin.
For someone living with a facial scar, that difference can carry enormous emotional weight. The face cannot easily be covered or put away. It is part of every introduction, every photograph and every moment of eye contact.
This work cannot undo what happened or remove the scar’s history.
But it may help the person feel seen before the scar is seen.

⛔️🚨A PETROL ACCIDENT changed the appearance of this client’s hand in a matter of seconds. The visible effects remained long after the physical healing had taken place.
He was left with significant pigment loss across the back of his hand and fingers and we know hands are difficult to hide. They are part of almost every interaction, whether we are working, reaching, greeting someone or simply moving through everyday life. When an injury changes such a visible part of the body, the impact can reach far beyond the skin.
🙏 After thorough consultation the healed scarring was assessed to be stable and ready for scar camouflage tattooing.
What stood out immediately was that this could never be treated using one standard skin coloured pigment. His hand contained warmer tones, cooler undertones, shadows and natural changes in colour across every finger and joint.
💁🏻♀️I created approximately four to five customised pigment blends and gradually worked them throughout the lighter areas. I custom mix everything from scratch to ensure complete accuracy.
The intention was not to completely cover the scar or create a flat block of colour. It was to recreate the natural variation within his skin and soften the contrast between the depigmented areas and the surrounding hand.
The history and texture of the skin are still there. Scar camouflage does not erase what happened. But by restoring some of the colour that was lost, the area can begin to sit more naturally within the surrounding skin rather than immediately drawing the eye to the area.
🫡 Sometimes the biggest transformation is not only what changes in the skin. It is how someone feels when they no longer believe their scar is the first thing everyone else sees.
🔥 Scar camouflage is highly individual and not every scar is suitable. Scar maturity, colour, texture and stability must all be carefully assessed before treatment.

SCAR REMODELLING | ONE SESSION by 💁🏻♀️
A result worth sharing. This client presented with established self-harm scars and, rather than moving straight to camouflage tattooing, we chose to work with the scar tissue first.
These images show before → immediately after treatment → healed after ONE session of targeted medical scar needling + exosomes.
No camouflage pigment has been used.
Medical scar needling differs from conventional cosmetic needling. Using a tattoo machine with different needle configurations, I work specifically within individual scars to create controlled micro-injury, stimulating the body’s natural wound-healing response and encouraging collagen and extracellular matrix remodelling.
Exosomes are incorporated as an adjunct to support the skin environment throughout healing.
The redness and raised appearance in the middle image is the immediate post-treatment response — temporary erythema, pinpoint bleeding and swelling can be expected. It is not the healed result.
Once healed, we can see visible improvement in the texture, colour contrast and overall prominence of many of these scars.
They haven’t been erased — nor would I ever promise that.
Scar remodelling is about improvement, not erasure.
And this is why I love working on the tissue before considering camouflage. Improve the canvas first and we may ultimately require less pigment — or potentially none at all.

✨🔥 RESULTS that change LIVES ~ Exosomes ✨
One of the reasons I’m so passionate about incorporating exosomes into my treatments is because we’re continuing to see exciting advances in regenerative medicine.
This recent world-first case from Hamilton Health Sciences in Canada really caught my attention. Their burn team used exosome therapy to help treat severe facial burns with the goal of avoiding skin grafting, and the early results were described as remarkable. While this was a highly specialised hospital treatment under compassionate approval, it’s an incredible example of where regenerative medicine is heading. (Newswire)

Think of them as tiny biological messengers. They help cells communicate by carrying important signals that support tissue repair, reduce inflammation and encourage the body’s natural healing processes. Researchers are exploring their potential across wound healing, burns, orthopaedics, aesthetics and many other areas of medicine. (PMC)
Why do I use them in my clinic?
For the right clients, I love combining exosomes with medical needling because my goal is always to support the skin’s own healing response. Whether we’re treating scars, stretch marks or skin rejuvenation, I’m constantly looking for treatments backed by emerging science that may help optimise healing and recovery.
Medicine is always evolving, and it’s exciting to see technologies that were once considered experimental beginning to make their way into mainstream research.
