You might spot two small words on your assessment notes, right next to skin and fat: muscle tone.
Most mums read it as "how fit am I" or "how big are my muscles." It means neither.
Muscle tone is the resting firmness a muscle holds, even when you aren't trying to use it. It describes how a muscle holds itself while you're sitting, standing or carrying your little one. Size and strength are separate things.
So why is it written on your notes?
At The Elite Hub, it's one of the things we check for ourselves. We don't assume it from how a tummy looks.
That matters because muscle tone and firm skin are two different things. A midsection can have one without the other. A personalised plan looks at each on its own terms.
Look at the side profile in this image. It's a view every mum knows, usually caught in a mirror or a shop window.
From the side, the shape of a post-pregnancy middle can come from skin, fat or the tone of the muscle beneath. From the outside, these can look very alike. That's why two similar side profiles can need different approaches.
We don't guess. We test. 🌸
Once you can name what's underneath, your notes become something you can read and understand for yourself.
Which word on your own assessment notes have you always wanted explained? Tell us in the comments and we'll unpack it.
One treatment. Two concerns. No downtime.
After pregnancy, two of the things mums raise with us most often are the loose, softer skin that stays around the tummy and the stretch marks that came with it.
They usually show up together. So it makes sense to treat them together.
RF microneedling combines two approaches in the same session. Microneedling creates tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin (small pathways that prompt the skin's own repair response). Radiofrequency delivers gentle warmth into the deeper layers (where collagen and elastin, the skin's support fibres, are rebuilt).
As the skin renews, the tummy feels firmer and stretch marks soften in texture and tone. Both concerns are worked on at the same time.
It's non-invasive, and there's no downtime. You can get on with your day afterwards.
Your skin carried you through pregnancy. It deserves care that works with it. 🌸
Every tummy is different, though. Some mums are dealing with loose skin and stretch marks. Others also have abdominal separation (diastasis recti, where the two sides of the abdominal muscle have stretched apart along the midline). That changes the plan.
That's why every plan at The Elite Hub starts with an assessment.
We don't guess. We test.
If you've been wondering whether RF microneedling is right for your body, send us a message to book your Mummy Tummy Assessment. 📩

A philosophy about broken pottery and a post-pregnancy core have more in common than you think.
There's a centuries-old Japanese philosophy called wabi-sabi.
It teaches that beauty lives in imperfection, transience, and incompleteness. The first instruction of this philosophy is simple: we must see what's actually there before we can begin to restore it.
This philosophy is older than any modern treatment table, and it maps exactly onto how we approach our first consultations at The Elite Hub.
We often see mums trying to mask abdominal separation.
A mummy tummy is structural information. It isn't a flaw to be hidden under shapewear.
The shape of your abdomen, the degree of diastasis recti (the gap that can open between the muscles during pregnancy), and the laxity of your connective tissue (the linea alba) tell a precise story about how your deep muscles are functioning.
Your core relies on a four-part support system: the diaphragm, the abdominals, the deep spinal muscles, and the pelvic floor. When pregnancy compromises this system, covering the abdomen with tight waistbands doesn't mend the underlying structure.
Guessing what's happening beneath the skin doesn't lead to genuine restoration.
At The Elite Hub, our approach aligns with this philosophy. We choose to see the body honestly, measure what's actually there, and only then create a personalised recovery plan.
We don't guess. We test.
Your body after pregnancy is a starting point, and an honest assessment is the only reliable place from which to rebuild.
After twelve months, natural postpartum healing typically plateaus, meaning targeted intervention is often required to restore function.
If you've been exercising and eating well but still feel like your deep core isn't responding, booking a professional assessment is where clarity begins. We provide a calm, pressure-free space to help you understand your body and begin your Mummy Tummy Rescue Plan.
Have you ever been told to just "listen to your body" without being given the actual tools to understand what it's saying? We'd love to hear your thoughts below. 🌸

We say it in the clinic every single day without a second thought: pelvic floor.
Then we wondered how a mum in São Paulo, Tokyo or Stockholm would say it, and realised this quiet part of the body has a name wherever women have carried babies.
Twenty countries, twenty real words for the same muscles:
Spain: suelo pélvico
France: plancher pelvien
Germany: Beckenboden
Italy: pavimento pelvico
Brazil: assoalho pélvico
Netherlands: bekkenbodem
Sweden: bäckenbotten
Norway: bekkenbunn
Denmark: bækkenbund
Finland: lantionpohja
Poland: dno miednicy
Czechia: pánevní dno
Hungary: medencefenék
Romania: planșeu pelvin
Turkey: pelvik taban
Russia: тазовое дно
Japan: 骨盤底
China: 盆底
South Korea: 골반저
Indonesia: dasar panggul
Different alphabets, the same body, the same recovery.
The delight is in the connection. Wherever a woman has carried a baby, there is a word for the muscles that held her up. That means this is never an awkward or niche topic. It is universal, ordinary and worth caring for.
In the treatment room, we don't look at the pelvic floor on its own. It is one piece of the core's four-part support system, working alongside the diaphragm, the abdominals and the deep spinal muscles. Supporting it is part of treating the whole woman after pregnancy, not a cosmetic extra.
Many mums only learn the word when something feels different after birth. Knowing it is named everywhere, in every language on earth, can make that first conversation feel a little more ordinary.
The image here shows a real client's core journey, as one part of whole core restoration.
Understanding your own pelvic floor starts with an assessment. We don't guess. We test.
So we're genuinely curious. What is the word for pelvic floor in your language, or when did you first hear it? Tell us below. 🌸

The chair takes your weight. The applicators settle into place against your middle, and for the next while you can let your shoulders drop.
A treatment session at The Elite Hub is time spent sitting still. The applicators do their work while you rest. There are no reps to count here, and nobody asking you to go harder.
Someone from our team is right there in the room the whole time. You won't be left on your own, and if you have a question or want to check how you're feeling, you only need to ask.
You can close your eyes. You can read. You can sit quietly and let the time be yours.
For a mum who spends her days holding everyone else, this can be a rare stretch where her only job is to be looked after. 🌸
What happens in the chair is part of a plan. That plan starts with your Mummy Tummy Assessment, where we look at how your core is working before we decide on anything else.
We don't guess. We test.
So by the time you're sitting back, the session you're having has been chosen for you, for a reason.
When was the last time you had a moment where your only job was to rest?

Most mums start with the part they can see. The change that lasts usually starts with the part they can't.
A changed midsection after pregnancy isn't one fix you're missing. It's the end of a sequence, and each step depends on the one before it.
Here's the order that actually holds.
Step one: know what you're working with.
That change can come from abdominal muscle separation, which is when the muscles down the front of your tummy have stretched apart, or from loose skin, or from both together. Each one asks for something different. Skip this and you can spend months working hard on the wrong problem.
This is where our whole approach lives. We Don't Guess. We Test.
Step two: restore how your core works.
Before chasing a flatter look, we rebuild the muscle function underneath. Jump straight to shaping the outside and the stomach can change while the inside still feels unsupported when you lift, carry, or stand for long.
Step three: shape and tighten, once the foundation is working again.
Now loose skin and contouring work builds on a core that can hold its own, rather than sitting on top of one that can't.
Out of order, each step quietly undoes the value of the next. In order, a plan built around your own body can bring your core function and your confidence back together.
If you're feeling behind, you're not. You might just be early in the order.
Which step are you on right now? 🌸

Loose skin after pregnancy isn't only about how it looks. It's often a sign your body needs support it hasn't had yet.
She came to us feeling disconnected from her own midsection. The skin was loose and crepey, the muscle tone soft, and exercise wasn't shifting any of it. 🌸
Here's what was actually happening. Loose, crepey skin and reduced muscle tone don't respond to more effort. They respond to the right support. So we looked at what her body was genuinely dealing with, then built around it.
Skin tightening technology to firm the surface. Muscle activation to rebuild tone from underneath. Recovery therapies to hold it all together. All shaped around her structure, not a generic template.
The after tells the story. Firmer, tighter skin. Improved muscle tone. And a woman who feels strong, comfortable and confident in her own skin again.
Effort was never her problem. Direction was.
Because the results that matter go beyond the mirror. This is why we don't guess. We test, then we build a plan from what we find.
Swipe through to see the before, the approach, and the after.
If you've been doing everything right and your skin still isn't responding, what's the one thing you wish someone had explained about post-pregnancy recovery? 💙

She came in wanting a flatter stomach.
What she didn't expect was to feel like herself again.
Here's what she described at her first assessment: back pain she'd carried for years, a pelvic floor that never felt strong, and a quiet sense of being disconnected from her own body after having kids.
She thought this was one problem. It was actually a whole system asking for help.
Because your core isn't just your abs. The diaphragm above, the deep spinal muscles behind, the abdominals in front, and the pelvic floor below all work together as one unit. Pregnancy can disrupt the whole system at once, which is why the stomach, the back pain, and the pelvic floor weakness so often show up together.
So we didn't hand her a workout plan. We assessed what was actually happening first, then built a personalised program around what her body needed. We don't guess. We test.
Over time, things shifted. A stronger, more stable core. Less back discomfort. Better pelvic floor function. And yes, a stomach she's proud of.
One plan. Whole-body results.
The stomach changed. But when we asked how she felt afterwards, that wasn't the part that mattered most to her. It was moving freely on the floor with her little one without that quiet fear of discomfort holding her back.
When the whole system is restored, everything feels different. 💙
If your core still doesn't feel right despite everything you're doing, that's exactly where we start. Send us a message to book your assessment and we'll walk you through it.
What would it mean for you to finally understand what's going on underneath?

She did planks every morning for six months. Her stomach still domed when she sat up.
The exercises weren't wrong. She just hadn't checked which part of the system had actually stopped working.
Here's what most mums don't realise. A mummy tummy isn't only a strength problem.
Your core is a four-part support system: the diaphragm on top, the abdominals in front, the deep spinal muscles behind, and the pelvic floor underneath. Think of it as a cylinder that has to fire together, in sequence, every time you move.
Pregnancy can disrupt that coordination. And when one part of the cylinder stops firing on cue, no amount of crunches or planks restores the function underneath.
So the effort doesn't translate. She was trying plenty hard enough. The work was simply aimed at the wrong place.
At The Elite Hub, we don't guess. We test.
We check how the four parts are actually working together under load, then direct the same effort at the right structure. That's the part that changes everything.
If your stomach still domes despite everything you're doing, which part of your support system have you never actually had checked? 🌸

Two women. The same post-pregnancy stomach. One chose surgery. One chose restoration.
Here's what actually separates those two paths.
From the outside, their tummies looked identical. The reason behind each one was completely different, and that's what decided the right path for each of them.
Restoration is for the woman whose core function is the real issue. Muscle separation, pelvic floor weakness, connective tissue changes. Non-invasive body restoration works on how your core functions as well as how your stomach looks, with zero downtime.
Surgery is for the woman whose main concern is excess skin after significant weight loss. A tummy tuck removes skin surgically. It also asks for real recovery time, and it doesn't rebuild how your core works.
Neither is universally right. The difference is what your body actually needs.
This is exactly why so many mums arrive already weighing up surgery, not realising that muscle separation and core dysfunction are structural issues surgery alone doesn't address.
At The Elite Hub, we assess what's actually happening beneath the surface first, then map the right path from there.
So before you decide: is your stomach a skin issue, or a core function issue? 🌿
