✨ Nutrition as Energy —
Not Just “What You Eat”

We often hear the saying “you are what you eat”, and while there’s truth in it, there’s also a deeper perspective that supports the nervous system, the spine, and whole‑body alignment.

Nutrition isn’t just food.
It’s energy.

Your body runs on energy — for movement, for healing, for emotional regulation, for digestion, for clarity, for breath, for everything.
So instead of thinking “what food defines me?”, it becomes:

How can I fuel my body with the kind of nutrition that gives me the energy I want to feel?

That’s where your 80/10/10 comes in:

- Nutrition — 80%
This is your body’s main energy source. Minerals, vitamins, hydration, whole foods… they literally build your cells and power your nervous system.

- Exercise — 10%
Movement supports circulation, digestion, lymph flow, and structural alignment — but it can’t replace poor nutrition.

- Lifestyle — 10%
Sleep, stress, environment, habits — these influence how well your body uses the nutrition you give it.

When you look at nutrition as energy, everything shifts.
It’s no longer about rules, guilt, or labels — it’s about asking:

What food will give me the energy I need for the output I want today?
Energy for clarity.
Energy for movement.
Energy for healing.
Energy for emotional steadiness.
Energy for being present with your kids, your clients, your life.

Your glow doesn’t come from glitter — it comes from the energy your body can access.

Much love,

You don’t rise to your goals…
you fall to your habits.

And the habits you repeat each day quietly shape your body, your alignment, your ease, and your wellbeing.

Our structure isn’t formed in one big moment — it’s created through the tiny patterns we live in:

Movement
Sitting positions
Standing posture
Walking patterns

Every one of these habits teaches your body how to hold itself.
They influence how you breathe, how your nervous system responds, how your energy flows, and where dis‑ease or tension shows up.

When you become aware of your daily patterns, you begin to understand why your body feels the way it does… and how you can support it with love, softness, and intention.

Small shifts create big change.
Your habits are the foundation your goals rest on 🩵

✨️ Welcome October ✨️

Today I’m feeling deep gratitude — for the soft nourishing rain we’ve been blessed with, the warmer weather, the sunshine on our skin, and the beginning of longer days.

I’m so grateful for two weeks of rest with my gorgeous children, for the abundance this month brings, and for the strength and health to keep building a beautiful future.

I’m grateful to simply be here — with an open heart full of love, kindness, and presence.

Cheers to an exciting new month, where we all get to create, expand, and welcome in new adventures.

Much love,
Jess x

Regulating your nervous system isn’t “self‑care”… it’s self‑access.

When your system is dysregulated, you’re not meeting life as your true self — you’re meeting it as your survival self.
Fast. Reactive. Overwhelmed. Shut down. On edge.

But when you regulate?
Everything changes.

- Your clarity sharpens
- Your reactions become choices
- Your intuition switches back on
- Your capacity expands instead of collapsing

Regulation is how your real self comes back online — the grounded, powerful, connected woman underneath the noise.

This is the work we do at Spinewithin.
Not calming you down — bringing you back.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with the wonderful MIB women. These events continue to be a highlight for me — a space where we share our stories, explore different perspectives, express our feelings, and support one another with creativity, care, and respect for each other’s boundaries. I feel genuinely grateful to be part of such an inspiring community. 🩷

If you’re a mother in business, this group is truly a valuable place to connect and grow. ✨️

Thank you to all the beautiful women who joined today. I always leave feeling more grateful, more grounded, and more connected. 🙏

Much love,
Jess x

I’m realising more and more how powerful these tiny moments are for my health — mind, body, and nervous system.
It’s honestly amazing how much they help.
Taking those little pockets of joy, gratitude, and peaceful presence brings my whole system back down to a place where it feels safe, comfortable, and aligned.

Happy Tuesday x

☀️ How your skin creates vitamin D

Your skin has a natural compound called 7‑dehydrocholesterol.
When sunlight — specifically UVB rays — touches your skin, it transforms that compound into vitamin D3.

It’s literally sunlight activating a raw ingredient already inside you.

🌞 The step‑by‑step process
- Sunlight hits your skin — only UVB rays trigger vitamin D production.
- Your skin converts it — UVB turns 7‑dehydrocholesterol into pre‑vitamin D3.
- Your body finishes the job — your liver and kidneys activate it into the usable form your body needs.
- You feel the benefits — mood, immunity, hormones, bones, nervous system regulation.

It’s sunlight → skin → liver → kidneys → activated vitamin D.

🌿 Why vitamin D matters for your nervous system + hormones
- It helps regulate calcium, which keeps your nerves firing smoothly.
- It supports immune balance, reducing inflammation.
- It plays a role in hormone production, especially mood‑related hormones.
- It’s deeply tied to energy, sleep, and emotional stability.

This is why you always feel clearer, softer, and more grounded after time in the sun.

✨ How much sun you actually need
For someone living in Tasmania:
- Around 10–20 minutes of midday sun on arms/legs is usually enough.
- Longer if it’s winter or cloudy.
- Shorter if UV index is high.

Enjoy a beach day for a natural vitamin D top‑up.

Much love,
Jess x
