Regional towns are amazing places and Lismore holds a special time for me during my uni days many years ago, it is hard to see this beautiful community hurting.

Being hit hard over the last week with both home and business .by.juelz is one of many beauty industry professionals who needs to hear that she is supported.

Let's get behind those in our industry. Small acts of kindness truly mean the world when things like this happen. They are the straws you clutch too, hoping and seeing the glimmer that the sun will shine again after the worst of life's storms.

If every salon, clinic, dayspa, nail salon, and each beauty therapist within the industry put in just $10 imagine the impact this would have for those in our industry effected. I know a year ago this would have been a strong statement to know that the industry was behind me.

Through fire, COVID and flood the message is still the same and relevant to the initial vision back in January 2020.

Why wellness for them?

I'm Melissa, I started up wellness for them as a way to connect beauty salons, clinics and day spas who were in fire affected areas and the areas that where struggling from continued drought.

Generally these were rural areas and I really wanted to be able to give them a voice to show all the amazing things that they are doing for their communities.

It has been a heartwarming exercise finding businesses just like mine across the country. As small business owners it can be hard to feel like you 'are doing it alone', but this page has definatly proven to me that we are an amazing, supportive and heart centred collective of true gems, who are far from alone.

I'm hoping that by creating a space where it wasn't about competition we can provide a supporting movement of businesses who are in the same position. Giving us a voice to show all the amazing things that we are doing to care for our communities.

As a service based industry it can be particularly hard if things are quiet, with tourists not around or our towns suffering devastation.
Wellness for them is not just about wellness for local people but about wellness for our wider beauty industry.

By providing a curated space to showcase all the amazing things, however small, that happen on a day-to-day basis within small country towns I hope we can create a community of strong independent caring and giving business owners who through all our small actions can help with recovery for our communities and also create a bigger sense of kindness in the world.

2 years ago I create wellness for them to spread some love for our industry after the fires of 2019/2020.

What the next 2 years chucked at myself and our industry is hard to imagine. In the flooding of resent days I have been drawn back to wellness for them in a need to connect those within our industry.

We are those that bring wellness to the world and here I try to shine light on those doing amazing and beautiful things within their communities.

These floods have hit close to home for me after my own clinic was destroyed by flooding that hit a year ago this month.

The days, weeks and months that followed where some of the most stressful of my life but have given me raw insight into what is needed and is happening for those currently being flood effected.

It has been a massive 2 years for all of use in the beauty industry and I thought it was about time we ramped up the love for those needing a reminder that they are seen and heard, and that your industry is behind you.

What an amazing first week back!

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see so many new and familiar faces, even if they were covered by masks.

This week has seen many new procedures put in place. No doubt some of these are tiring, I am trying to streamline the process as much as possible to make things easier.

You may notice that forms are starting to be sent along with your confirmation texts, I am hoping this will help reduce time spent filling in forms each time you come.

I have recently upgraded my booking system, confirmation messages will be sent from a different number. Please continue to use my number for all enquiries or appointment changes.

Bookings can now be done online, current through Facebook and Instagram, the system will be added to my website shortly.
