mecca came to me with existing deep blue pigment and areas of scar tissue from previous tattooing.

correcting existing cosmetic tattooing requires a different approach to working on untouched skin. scar tissue can respond unpredictably to pigment and may not retain colour as evenly, so we discussed from the beginning that additional touch-ups may be needed as her brows heal and settle.

our goal was to create softer, more complimentary symmetry for her face, while carefully working with the existing shape and pigment. we chose a cooler-toned colour to suit her features and opted for a powder brow, as adding hairstrokes could potentially accentuate the old tattoo underneath.

as the new pigment heals and softens, some of the underlying tattoo may become more visible again, particularly through the scarred areas, so further touch-ups may be recommended to continue refining the result.

✨ UPDATED PAYMENT METHODS ✨

Moving forward from today, I’ll be making a small change to the payment methods available in salon. With the upcoming changes to card surcharges from 1 October, I’ve decided to make this change now rather than increase my prices to accommodate the additional costs.

I completely understand how convenient card payments are, and this definitely wasn’t a decision I made without considering that. The reality is that the card surcharge I currently charge doesn’t actually cover the full processing cost I pay per transaction, meaning I’m already absorbing part of that fee myself. Across every transaction, those little amounts add up to a significant cost over the course of a year.
This is also why, over the past fortnight, I’ve been slowly transitioning clients across to cash or bank transfer/PayID rather than making the change suddenly. 🤍

The alternative would be to factor these costs into my service prices and increase them across the board. But I genuinely don’t feel comfortable increasing what every client pays simply to cover card processing fees, especially when there’s an option of cash and bank transfer that don’t create that extra cost.
With the cost of living already being what it is, I know everyone is feeling increases from every direction, and the last thing I want to do is contribute to that unnecessarily. If there’s a change I can make within my business that helps me keep my current pricing for my clients, I would much rather do that! 💖

So, effective from today, cash will be preferred (change is always available in salon), with bank transfer/PayID also available.

Card, AfterPay & ZipPay will NO LONGER be available.

Online bookings will remain exactly the same!

I know this may take a little getting used to, but I really appreciate everyone’s understanding. I’m always going to try to make decisions that keep my business sustainable without automatically passing every increasing cost onto my clients.

Formal season will be here before we know it, so if you’re planning your appointments, here are my recommendations to help everything come together perfectly!

✨ Lashes: If you have a birthday or another special event before your formal, I recommend booking a fresh full set for that occasion, then an infill before your formal (depending on how long before your formal your birthday or event is). This gives you the chance to wear your lashes beforehand and, if you’d like anything tweaked or changed, we have plenty of time to do so before your formal.

✨ Brows: If you have a birthday or another special event before your formal, I recommend booking your brows beforehand, then having a Brow Sculpt & Dye before your formal (depending on how long before your formal your birthday or event is). This lets you see how you like your shape and colour, and if you’d prefer anything adjusted, we can make those changes before your big day. I also always recommend a Brow Sculpt & Dye over a standard brow wax and tint before your formal. I map your brows first to create the perfect shape, then customise the dye colour to suit you. This gives us far more colour options and a result that’s tailored specifically to you.

✨ Spray Tans: If you’re thinking about having a trial, I highly recommend it! You might have a certain colour in mind now, but once you have your dress, you may decide a different shade suits it even better. A trial gives us time to find the perfect colour so there are no surprises before your formal.
