If you like an exfoliator that is quick, easy and does more than one job, the COSMEDIX Prep & Reset Lactic Acid Exfoliating Pads are a great one to know about.

Each pad has two sides — a textured side for a little more exfoliation and a smoother side to sweep over the skin and prep it for your serums and moisturiser.

But it’s what’s in them that I particularly like.

They combine lactic, phytic, gluconic and kojic acids to help with dullness, uneven skin tone and skin texture, plus papaya enzyme for additional gentle exfoliation.

And there’s niacinamide in there too, helping to support the skin barrier and maintain hydration — so it’s not simply about exfoliating the skin.

Use them in the PM when your skin is looking a little dull, rough or in need of a reset.

Simple. Effective. And no bathroom sink covered in scrub. 😉

FIBROBLASTS. WHAT ARE THEY — AND WHY SHOULD WE CARE ABOUT THEM?

We talk a lot about collagen in skincare, but we don’t talk nearly enough about the cells responsible for making it.

Meet your fibroblasts.
Fibroblasts are cells found within the dermis — the deeper layer of your skin — and they play an important role in producing collagen, elastin and other components that help support the skin’s structure.

Think of them as the skin’s little construction team.
When fibroblasts are functioning well, they help support skin that looks firmer, smoother and more resilient.

But as we age, fibroblast activity naturally slows down. Add in things such as UV exposure and oxidative stress, and collagen production and skin repair aren’t quite as efficient as they once were.

So when we talk about supporting healthy ageing, it isn’t simply about putting collagen on the skin.
It’s also about creating the right environment to support the cells that actually make it.

That’s why ingredients such as retinoids, vitamin C and certain peptides, along with treatments such as microneedling, are so interesting — they can support the processes involved in collagen production and skin renewal.
Healthy fibroblasts = better support for healthy, resilient skin.

And yes, SPF matters here too. Protecting your collagen is every bit as important as trying to make more of it.

Spring has sprung, and it has a way of showing up on your skin: a bit more oil, a bit more congestion, and whatever winter left behind still sitting on the surface.

Did you know your skin follows a circadian rhythm too? ⏰

Its needs actually change throughout the day.

MORNING — PROTECT
Cortisol levels are at their peak and the skin shifts more towards protection and defence. Think antioxidants, hydration and, most importantly, SPF.

MIDDAY — HELLO, 12 O’CLOCK SHINE
Sebaceous glands become more active and sebum production increases — particularly through the T-zone. Hence that familiar midday shine.

NIGHT — REPAIR + REPLENISH
While you sleep, your skin gets to work on repair and regeneration. But it also loses more water overnight, which is why your night cream matters.

Night-time is also a great opportunity to use regenerative ingredients such as vitamin A.

So your morning and evening routines really shouldn’t be identical — your skin has different jobs to do at different times of the day.

Work with your skin’s clock, not against it.
