The NSW Government has released The Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2026, which is effective from the 5th of November 2026.

The updated requirements place a significantly greater focus on clinical governance, accurate patient record management, prescriber oversight, medicine traceability, robust documentation, and comprehensive auditing procedures.

The 2026 regulations introduce stringent Category 1 and Category 2 Clinical Governance requirements, elevating the focus on clinical governance in the industry.
