Artifact 04 of 10 — Antiques of 2095.

Antiques from a future that hasn’t happened yet. A contemporary artifact imagined as something collected from the year 2095.

Mirror, resin and variegated gold leaf.

Resin is such a sensitive material to work with. It needs the right temperature, the right humidity, the right timing, and sometimes one tiny speck can undo hours of work. It’s taken me a long time to refine the technique and create the depth I want in both the mirror and the orb, but that’s also why I love these materials so much. They never look exactly the same twice. The colours shift and the surface changes as you move around the work, so each piece feels slightly alive.
