Sneak peek of the Beauty Expo Australia 2026 in Sydney... Can you guess how much Adriana and Joanne spent...
Christina Aguilera’s 2026 appearance has the internet talking again, and from an aesthetic point of view, there is one thing that really stands out to me.
Her weight loss appears significant, but her skin laxity does not seem to have changed as dramatically as we might expect.
Of course, we cannot know someone’s weight, rate of weight loss or treatment history from photos alone. But when we see significant changes in facial and body volume, we often expect to see some degree of skin laxity, particularly around the face and neck. Christina’s recent appearance seems to maintain relatively good skin quality and facial support despite a much slimmer silhouette. Recent coverage has also noted how much more defined her facial contours appear following her weight loss.
One possibility is that her weight loss was gradual. When weight changes happen more slowly, the skin may have more time to adapt and contract.
Another possibility is that she may have had aesthetic treatments to support the skin and underlying structures.
I don’t think weight loss alone tells the whole story of how someone’s face will change. Genetics, skin quality, the speed of weight loss, age, previous treatments and ongoing aesthetic maintenance can all influence the final result.
The question is: was the weight loss gradual, has she had treatments to maintain skin quality and support, or is it simply a combination of excellent genetics, styling and clever photography?
Most likely, we will never know, and that is exactly why analysing celebrity aesthetics should always remain an educated observation, not a diagnosis.

Being a speaker at Aesthetics 2026 was such a privilege, and my 2nd time taking the stage to share my knowledge and experience with the aesthetic medicine community.
One of my favourite parts of these events is meeting other medical professionals who share the same passion for medicine, aesthetics, education and, most importantly, patient care.
It was wonderful to meet new faces, make new friends, exchange ideas and, of course, run into so many familiar faces along the way.
A huge thank you to Aesthetics for having me and for creating such an inspiring space for education and connection.
Until next time.
The first step isn’t knowing exactly what treatment you want, but a thorough consultation.
At Dr Fresh Clinic, our consultations are about understanding you, your concerns and what are your expectations. We take the time to listen, assess, understand your anatomy and talk through your options honestly.
No pressure. No one-size-fits-all approach. Just medical advice to help you make an informed decision.
If you’ve been thinking about a concern but don’t know where to start, book a consultation. We’re here to listen and help.
Katie Price has recently spoken openly about her body dysmorphia and how she has struggled to feel happy when looking in the mirror.
Her story raises an important conversation for aesthetic medicine.
As medical practitioners, our responsibility is not simply to provide a treatment because a patient asks for it. Sometimes, the most appropriate treatment is to say no.
When a patient’s concerns are driven by an unrealistic perception of their appearance, repeated procedures may not address the underlying distress. In some circumstances, continuing to treat can potentially reinforce that cycle rather than help the patient.
This is why a thorough consultation matters.
We need to understand not only what a patient wants to change, but what they expect from treatment, and whether treatment is genuinely in their interests. And sometimes, that conversation is far more important than the treatment itself.
Aesthetics should not be about endlessly chasing an image in the mirror.
