DIY nail education every gel and press-on lover should know. 💚
A green mark on the nail is often called a “greenie”. It is not mould. The discolouration is commonly associated with Pseudomonas, a bacteria that can thrive when moisture becomes trapped beneath lifted nail product.
This can happen with gel, BIAB, extensions or press-ons when a small area begins to lift away from the natural nail.
To protect your natural nails:
✔️ Check regularly for lifting
✔️ Never glue lifted product back down
✔️ Follow the correct removal process
✔️ Avoid picking or peeling off nail products
✔️ Make sure your nails are properly prepared before application
The green colour may remain visible while the stained part of the nail grows out. If you notice pain, redness, swelling or discharge, seek advice from a doctor.
We believe beautiful nails should always begin with healthy nails and the right education.
