Why does your salon blow-dry always hit different?
It’s one of those things that looks simple until you watch a hairdresser do it properly.
The section size, the brush choice, the tension, the direction of the airflow, the products used beforehand, the amazing smell of those products (you know exactly what we’re talking about!!), how much moisture is left in the hair, all of it changes the end result.
And that’s before we even get to the styling itself.
A good blow-dry isn’t just about making the hair look polished for the photo. It’s about creating movement, smoothing the hair, showing off the colour properly and giving the cut its shape.
There’s a lot more happening in those final 20 minutes than it looks like.

Almost called Scandi Blondes. Almost got scammed signing up for a home office. Naming and opening a salon really challenged us!!
What we DID know was that we wanted to do it together, and we wanted beautiful blondes to be a big part of it. Sooo, Coastal Blondes just felt like… us. It felt super natural! A nod to where we live and the hair we love creating. And finding our spot in Mooloolaba meant clients coming from both north and south could get to us easily, which mattered so much too.
P.S. For our brunettes and copper girlies wondering whether you’re allowed in… yes, absolutely! Blondes might be in the name, but there’s a chair here for you always.

Meet Sharmane, our (very talented) Salon Coordinator. With a background in hairdressing, she knows her way around more than the appointment calendar. She’s always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed, helping the team, and making sure you’re looked after from the moment you walk through our doors.

Hair processing, cocktail poured. Priorities.
There’s something very correct about sitting in rollers, wearing sunglasses indoors and sipping a cocktail while someone else sorts out your hair.
Honestly, we don’t make the rules. We just strongly support this behaviour.

You know we love hair, but getting to build Coastal Blondes together and have these girls become part of it? That’s something we’re really, really proud of.
As founders, you put so much of yourselves into our business. What matters to you, how you treat people, how you want someone to feel when they walk through the door. Then you grow a team, and they bring things you couldn’t have created on your own. Each of these girls has made their mark on this place. In the way they look after you, support each other, make us laugh and bring their own quirks and talents.
Watching this back, we can see so much of what we hoped Coastal Blondes would become, and so much of that comes from them. Girls, we hope you know how much you mean to us. Having you put so much love into the salon is something we’ll never take for granted.
