44 clubs make up the Lions Tasmanian (T1) District, which encompasses King and Flinders Islands. Lions International is a global service organisation.

About 950 Tasmanians work together as Lions with 47 clubs making up the Tasmanian (T1) district. Lions Clubs leverage local community spirit to serve their local and wider communities and if the job is a big one Lions clubs work in groups, nationally or internationally to make a positive difference and to change lives. The Lions Tasmania district (201 T1) covers the entire state of Tasmania including King and Flinders Islands. This is the only district in Australia in this position, all other states consist of several districts. Lions Clubs in Tasmania provide support for a vast range of projects across all areas of the state. Lions work with youth, the elderly and infirm of the community. Lions are active in the local community doing good wherever they can. Throughout Australia 30 000 members in 1 500 clubs are serving the country. Worldwide, there are over 1.4 million members in 210 countries forming the world's largest service organisation, Lions Clubs International. If you would like to serve your community, meet new people and become part of the Tasmanian Lions Family, leave a message here and we will connect you with your local club. Lions - We Serve

πŸŽ‰ CONGRATULATIONS TANYA BROOKS-COOPER!! πŸŽ‰

The Tasmanian Online Lions Club is proud to congratulate our Secretary, Tanya Brooks-Cooper, on her appointment as Tasmanian Volunteer Co-ordinator for Hope in a Suitcase! πŸ’ΌπŸ’›

Hope in a Suitcase does wonderful work supporting children and young people entering out-of-home care, making sure they have something of their own, packed with care, at one of the most uncertain times in their lives. It's a cause that fits perfectly with everything Tanya stands for.

Tanya brings deep compassion, practical know-how and a lifelong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and families. We know she'll inspire volunteers right across Tasmania to get involved and make a real difference.

Tanya, we couldn't be prouder. Well done, and thank you for all you give to our community! πŸ¦πŸ’™πŸ’›

If you'd like to learn more about Hope in a Suitcase or find out how you can help in Tasmania, reach out to Tanya or send us a message.

One Poster. One Big Impact.
At the last Tassie Lions Northern Networking Day, it was suggested that every club could benefit from more community publicity β€” and one simple, powerful idea stood out: a poster showcasing everything your club does, displayed proudly in the community.

George Town Lions Club have already nailed this! Their Tail Twister, Laurie Biddulph, put together a brilliant poster covering everything from fundraising (sausage sizzles, raffles, Christmas cakes) to community health initiatives, youth sports support, community outings, local partnerships, and more β€” all in one eye-catching design.

The result? It was extremely well received, and opened a few eyes in the community about just how much George Town Lions actually do.

πŸ‘ A huge thanks to Laurie for sharing his graphic design skills with such great effect.

Could your club do the same? A single poster can tell your whole community story at a glance β€” and remind people just how much Lions clubs contribute, week in and week out.

Amazing fundraising for victims of the Nepal Disaster, Lions Club of Huon!

πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅ HUON VALLEY GENEROSITY SHINES AGAIN! πŸ¦πŸ’™πŸ’›

The Lions Club of Huon would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful community for supporting our recent Nepal Flood Relief Appeal at Huon Village.

Over just four days at the end of August and beginning of September, an incredible $5,533.20 was raised! πŸ‘

These funds will be sent to the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) for distribution through Lions Clubs in Nepal to help communities affected by the devastating floods.

Importantly, every dollar raised by Lions goes to the cause, with no deductions for administration.

Once again, the generosity of the Huon Valley community has been overwhelming. We sincerely thank the businesses of Huonville, Huon Village and everyone who stopped to donate. Your kindness will make a genuine difference to people facing an incredibly difficult time. ❀️

A special thank you to Lions Kent Wells, John Green, Kevin Dore, Ann Brittain, Craig & Libby Scott and Maureen Hayes, who gave their time to collect donations, along with our wonderful non-Lion volunteer Annette Sugden.

🌏 When communities come together, even from opposite sides of the world, we can make a difference.

Thank you, Huon Valley! πŸ¦πŸ’™πŸ’›
