Hey y’all...so let’s have that difficult conversation about unrealistic pictures and expectations. This post is for client information and for stylist support. .
So where do we begin? The picture that you see on the left is an unaltered photo of my guest from this past week. The one on the right is an altered picture that took me roughly 60 seconds in an app. How many of y’all bring in those paper white platinum blonde pictures to your stylists? Well I’m here to gently tell you that more then likely the picture that you brought in is not of the actual color that guest left with and is not an achievable goal. .
“Well Kristen, you don’t know because I have seen platinum hair before and it does exist.” 👈🏻 Hey girl, I totally get where you are coming from, but if you have any of the following then this is not for you: 1️⃣ Your a dark brunette 2️⃣ you have previously colored hair. 3️⃣ you want low maintenance 4️⃣ you want to keep your hair long AND healthy 5️⃣ you only have a budget of $200 and want it done in 1 session. .
Ok so who at the end of the day can achieve the picture on the right realistically? The guests who come in with virgin hair that is a medium brunette-light Blonde who has the ability to budget $600-$1200 for their hair over a period of 3-9 months. Holy s**t right?! How many people did I just p**s off ✋🏻 I mean I kinda want to unfollow myself if it were possible 😂😂 .
🗣 listen y’all, I am here to educate you, lift you up, set you up for success and give you realistic expectations. I’m that friend who tells you the truth and doesn’t sugar coat even though you think “well damn could you sugar coat it a little bit?” My answer is no, It is my obligation to sometimes give you the ugly truth if you need it. .
My point being hear, don’t always believe what you see. Trust your stylist if they say it will take sessions, and RUN AWAY if someone says they can do it all in 1 session for $200...
