June is Lipoedema Awareness Month 💜

Lipoedema is estimated to affect up to 1 in 9 women, yet many remain undiagnosed for years.

It’s not simply weight gain, obesity, or “just cellulite.”

Common signs include:
• Painful, tender legs or arms
• A heavy, aching feeling
• Easy bruising
• Fat that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise
• Family history of similar symptoms

The sooner it’s recognised, the sooner appropriate support and management can begin.

If you’ve always felt like something didn’t quite add up, it may be worth looking deeper.

Book an assessment if you’d like guidance on the next steps.

Clinical lymphatic drainage is very different from the sculpting massages you see all over social media.

Our approach is rooted in the original European lymphatic drainage methods that formed the foundation of modern MLD. The focus is supporting lymphatic function, reducing congestion, assisting healing, and improving overall health.

Every treatment is guided by anatomy, physiology, and clinical reasoning. We assess what’s happening in the tissues and work with your body, not against it.

When lymphatic flow improves and the body is functioning better, many people notice visual changes as a natural by-product. Less puffiness. Better tissue quality. A greater sense of lightness.

The goal isn’t to chase the aesthetic result.

The goal is better health.

The visual changes often follow.

If you’re looking for a clinical approach rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment, book an appointment with our team.

Scars can affect more than appearance.

They may contribute to tightness, restricted movement, discomfort, swelling and lymphatic flow, changes in tissue mobility long after healing appears complete.

The first 6 months often provide the greatest opportunity to influence healing, although changes can still occur well beyond this timeframe.

Scar therapy with us may include:

• Scar mobilisation and hands-on therapy
• Myofascial techniques
• Taping
• Cupping
• Electrostatic therapy
• Photobiomodulation (light therapy)
• Silicone topicals and patches
• Medical compression specific for scars
• Home care strategies

Every scar is different. Treatment should be guided by the type of scar, stage of healing, symptoms, and individual goals.

If you have a scar that feels tight, sensitive, uncomfortable, or swelling, don’t assume it’s something you simply have to live with.

Always learning. Always improving.

We attended further professional training in scar therapy to continue expanding our skills in post-surgical recovery and scar management.

Scars are often thought of as purely cosmetic, but they can affect tissue mobility, lymphatic flow, movement, sensation, comfort, and overall function long after the incision has healed.

Some key takeaways from the workshop:

• The greatest opportunity for change is often within the first 6 months following surgery
• Scar remodelling can continue for up to 2 years after surgery
• Early intervention may help improve mobility, comfort, appearance, and tissue function
• Scar assessment should look beyond the scar itself and consider the surrounding tissues and movement patterns
• Every scar heals differently and requires an individualised approach

Non-invasive treatment options may include:

• Manual scar therapy
• Myofascial therapy
• Cupping
• Electrostatic therapy
• Biophotomodulation
• Taping
• Compression therapy
• Silicone therapy
• Home care strategies

Don’t wait until your scar becomes a problem.

The earlier treatment begins, the greater the opportunity to influence healing and long-term outcomes.

These aren’t your average compression boots.

SIPC pants are designed to work with your lymphatic system not just squeeze the legs like typical recovery boots.

These medical-grade compression garments extend all the way up to the chest to support lymphatic flow through the legs, glutes, pelvis, and abdomen as part of a more comprehensive treatment approach.

Sometimes used within our Advanced Lymphatic Drainage sessions with Tanya alongside hands-on therapy and clinically guided treatment tailored to your body.

In clinic, we see a lot of misinformation around what lymphatic drainage actually is and what it is meant to do.

This is not about sculpting, forcing fluid, or applying the same routine to every body. It is about understanding lymphatic anatomy, drainage pathways, tissue status, and how each person’s presentation changes what is appropriate in treatment.

Some cases require extremely gentle techniques, especially when tissues are inflamed, healing, fragile, or post-operative. Other cases may benefit from more structural or deeper work around surrounding tissues, fascia, muscle tension, or fibrosis.

The difference is knowing when, why, and how to apply those techniques appropriately.

Our approach is not based on a memorised routine from a weekend course. It is based on anatomy, physiology, tissue healing, lymphatic pathways, clinical reasoning, and adapting treatment to the individual in front of us.

Because good lymphatic work is not about copying movements.
It’s about understanding the body well enough to know what it actually needs 👌

Sometimes we prescribe dancing 💃🏼

Your lymphatic system relies on movement to flow - walking, stretching, breathing, laughing, dancing… it all counts.

Lymphatic self-care doesn’t need to be boring or feel like another thing on your to-do list.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your body is:
✨ put music on
✨ move your body
✨ get circulation going
✨ have fun while doing it !

Movement can help support:
• lymphatic flow
• circulation
• fluid retention
• nervous system regulation
• energy & mood

So yes… sometimes dancing is part of the treatment plan 😉 and doing what you love is the best medicine 🌱
