Congratulations to Kallym Huffer, who competed at the national boxing championships.
I caught up with Kallym at Resolute Gym in Shepparton and even had a spar with him. His goals are set high. An Australian title first, then international selection, then Brisbane 2032.
None of this happens without support. The Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna has backed Kallym through this campaign, and that kind of local backing is what gives young athletes like him a real shot.

Some amazing highlights from our members over the weekend! 👏🔥
First up, Emma stepped on stage for the second week in a row and came away with a bronze medal! 🥉 But she’s not finished yet, she’s backing it up again this weekend at Nationals. What an incredible effort!
Next up, our two Backyard Ultra warriors, Harry and Sara, absolutely smashed it! Completing 6.7km every hour, on the hour, until they couldn’t go any further. That takes some serious physical and mental strength! 🏃♂️
