At the 2026 Ozdare Retreat, Mocha Group General Manager Jarred Stedman sat down with Dr Rita El-Khouri to unpack the science behind greying hair — and why factors such as oxidative stress, UV exposure, pollution, diet, sleep, psychological stress and hormonal changes can all influence how and when our hair begins to lose pigment according to the research by Dr El-Khouris

Dr El-Khouri explains that while every hair follicle has a natural melanin reserve that gradually declines over time, external and internal stressors may accelerate that process much earlier than expected.
