My role isn’t just to create beautiful hair on the day. One of the best lessons I was ever taught was to be the hairdresser for the next six weeks, not just the time your client is in the chair.

That means I’m always thinking ahead. How will your colour grow out? Will it still look beautiful in a month’s time? Will it be easy for you to maintain between visits? I want you to leave loving your hair not just today, but every day until I see you again.

12 years… where has the time gone? 🤍

Today marks 12 years of being my own boss. Honestly… it’s a little surreal.
When I took that leap all those years ago, I had no idea where the journey would lead me. There have been plenty of highs, a few challenges along the way, and so many moments that have shaped not only my business but who I am as a person. It has also included the heartbreaking loss of my dad, who built most of my salons and was my biggest supporter, and I know he would be so proud of how far this journey has come.

It all began renting a chair at Medusa before taking the exciting step of opening my own shopfront in Crown Street Mall. From there, life took me to my beautiful home salon in Calderwood. After just 15 short months, another opportunity came knocking and we packed up once again and headed to Camden, where I was lucky enough to share a space with the beautiful Amy from Two Chairs.

When that lease came to an end, I made the move to Cordeaux Heights, where I’m still proudly working today—now in my seventh year. I also have the pleasure of sharing the space with Lina and Stella, who make the commute so worthwhile and every workday that little bit brighter.
While my business has continued to evolve, so has my life.

Over these 12 years I’ve married my best friend, welcomed our beautiful little boy Nixon into the world, and built our second family home, complete with the salon I’ve always dreamed of.

Looking back, it’s incredible how much can happen in 12 years. Every client who’s sat in my chair, every conversation, every recommendation, every referral, every laugh, every tear, and every bit of support has helped me build the business I have today.
To every single person who has trusted me with your hair, brows and now your hair spa experience—thank you. You’ve supported a small business, but more importantly, you’ve supported my dreams and my family. I will never take that for granted.
Here’s to the last 12 years… and to whatever the next chapter has in store. 🤍
