My why…
You might know that I started studying homeopathy back in 2024 - and today I want to share why.
At 4.5 months old, my son was diagnosed with severe eczema and multiple allergies. We had no idea how much it would affect him - and us - and how intense or heartbreaking it would be. His skin flared up soon after I weaned him and introduced cows milk formula it became dry and flaky, then started to weep constantly, especially on his cheeks and scalp.
His GP suggested it was environmental, but something in me felt there was more to it. I asked for an IGE Allergy test and the results confirmed that my son was highly allergic to all the top allergens, including milk protein.

We followed the conventional treatment path – starting with antibiotics and gentle hydrocortisone creams. When that didn’t help, we were prescribed stronger steroids. They helped temporarily, but every time we stopped his skin with flare up again. At one point, his skin became incredibly sensitive and reactive. I suspect he was going through something known as topical steroid withdrawal – which, in some ways, felt more challenging than eczema itself.

We even saw support at the Royal children’s Hospital, hoping for more specialised care but were advised to continue with steroids. When we hesitated, we were told that not doing so might be reported as medical neglect. That moment was incredibly stressful and confusing for us as parents. It became clear that conventional medicine didn’t have the full picture for my son, so we explored other avenues.

We started seeing a Naturopath who focused on a gut health and nutrition. That gave us some progress, about 40% improvement, but we still needed more support.

Around this time, a friend sent me a podcast about homeopathy. I had a homeopath’s number saved for months but hadn’t acted on it - mostly because I didn’t know what a homeopath actually did. But I booked the appointment.

This shift is opening up space for an exciting new chapter: very soon, I’ll be expanding my practice to offer holistic homeopathic consults.
