You’ve heard it before - curls need moisture. Curls need a good leave-in conditioner.
And yes that is absolutely true.
But are they also wet enough BEFORE you put that in ?! Is your hair allowing it to receive the water? (You’d be surprised how many aren’t!)
And are you locking that leave-in in with a sealer (gel)?
While leave-ins are great, your hair needs to be able to:
1. Accept water first (clean, clarified, build-up removed)
2. Seal that water in (a gel or hold product)
This is what I go through with every client who sits in my chair.
We don’t just make your hair pretty with a great cut.
We get to the bottom of WHY your hair is doing what it’s doing.
And WHERE you want it to be.

Ok - Let’s talk hydration💧
Now, if you’ve been in my chair you know that I preach getting your curls hydrated - with WATER.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good hydrating conditioner and leave-in!
But we NEED to have the conversation of getting our hair hydrated with water FIRST.
Water is part of the building blocks of having smooth, defined, frizz-free curls. (Frizz = DEhydrated)
And to me, that is a non negotiable in my curly routine.
So a quick easy way to do this: lots of squishing in the shower (squish to condish!) THEN you add your leave-ins. These seal in that precious water and helps with styling.
Honestly, water is your hairs best friend. Get that water in there and you’ll be rewarded with the best curls. Every time. ➰➰➰

Sometimes a big chop is exactly what your curls have been waiting for!
This beautiful girl was so brave and swapped her long curls for this gorgeous layered bob, and I am OBSESSED! 🤍
Her curls were a little dry and frizzy, so before styling we gave them a proper drink with the Clever Curl treatment and plenty of water (because hydrated curls are happy curls! 💦)
We finished by locking all that moisture in with curl cream and gel... and I swear you can almost hear her curls saying “thank you!”
Yes. Yes it does.

One for the guys ✨
Max came in for the first time wanting to keep length (to be able to wear up for his job) and get definition and moisture for his amazing curls!
He already has a lot of natural volume with his thick hair, so didn’t want it too big or a lot of layers.
What we did:
Tidied up his ends, long layers for shape (bevelled edge), hydrated and styled using curl rich conditioner, Wonderfoam, Humid Weather gel
How good does it look!
