A little reception appreciation post.

These beautiful floral arrangements were thoughtfully created by Vazie Styled Artificial Blooms to complement the blush pink and olive-green palette of Zebra Aesthetics.

I wanted elegant, realistic arrangements that we could rotate throughout the year, allowing reception to have a fresh look for each season and they brought that vision to life so beautifully.

The flowers add warmth, colour and softness to the space, creating a lovely welcome from the moment you walk through the door.

Thank you for every birthday message and every generous “you don’t look 40!” comment. I received them all with a very big smile.

Skin of colour may develop visible fine lines and sun-related ageing later because greater epidermal melanin provides some natural protection from ultraviolet radiation. However, we are not immune to sun damage and concerns such as uneven pigmentation and post-inflammatory darkening may be more prominent.

For me, ageing well has been about genetics, consistent skincare, sun protection and gentle, thoughtfully selected treatments not chasing perfection or trying to look 20 forever.

This is 40: informed, intentional, fearless and flourishing.

This week has taken me from professional development to clinic visits through my ambassador role and finally back to Zebra Aesthetics with a bit of book signing with a beautiful author.

I’m grateful for the opportunities that allow me to continue learning, connect with other practitioners and contribute to education within the industry.

But everything eventually comes back to the person sitting in front of me: listening carefully, assessing individually and communicating honestly.

Now it’s time to prepare for another week at Zebra Aesthetics.

I’m not here to tell you what you should want or make you feel as though every new treatment belongs in your plan.

My role is to educate, assess and provide care when an option may be appropriate for the individual in front of me.

Social media can introduce a topic, but it cannot assess your medical history, examine your skin or decide what is suitable for you.

Sometimes the conversation leads to treatment. Sometimes it leads to skincare, referral, further assessment or no treatment at all.
