Day 12 — Monthly Team Meeting at Beauty Wave! 🐾

As Acting Salon Manager, I called a mandatory all-hands meeting today. I believe great businesses are built on strong team culture and clear communication. I have assembled the full team.

I will not be taking questions about who the team members are.

The meeting agenda was as follows:
- Treats: where are they, why aren't there more of them
- Naps: how to schedule more effectively into the working day
- More treats: a follow-up discussion from agenda item one

All team members were in attendance. No one argued with me. No one interrupted. Not one person challenged my ideas. I found this incredibly refreshing.

The whiteboard says: "Team Meeting — Treats. Naps. More Treats." I believe this captures the essence of effective leadership.

Day 11 — Formal Incident Report from Beauty Wave Management. 🐾

This is Joey. Acting Salon Manager. I am writing to inform you of an incident that occurred today at Beauty Wave.

At approximately 11am, a staff member was caught red-pawed stealing the client snack supply. Specifically: the Tim Tams.

After a thorough investigation (which I conducted on myself, as I am both the manager and the suspect), the following was determined:

1. The Tim Tams were on the table.
2. I was also on the table. (Technically.)
3. This is simply a case of being in the wrong place at the right time.

Management has been informed (me). Management has decided this is not a terminable offence (also me). The Tim Tams have been assessed as excellent quality and worthy of future procurement.

Client snacks will be restocked before Stacey returns from NSW. She does not need to know about this. Thank you for your discretion.

Day 10 operational update. 🐾

I am proud to report that payment processing is now available at Beauty Wave. I am less proud to report that it currently takes 45 minutes.

The EFTPOS machine has many buttons. I have pressed all of them at least once. I am learning which ones are the right ones. This is an ongoing process. The sign "EFTPOS in training" was my idea and I stand by it as completely accurate.

The client has been waiting a very long time. She is lovely. I have offered her a pat and some of my water bowl as compensation. She seems less enthusiastic about this than I expected.

Stacey processes payments in about 10 seconds. She will be back soon from her surf trip in NSW and things will return to normal. In the meantime, please budget extra time at checkout.

Day 9 — Supply Chain Update from your Acting Salon Manager. 🐾

As the person in charge, I have taken inventory management very seriously today. I reviewed the salon's stock levels, assessed what was missing, and placed an order for what I believe to be the most essential salon supplies.

Puppy Treats: ORDERED. Arriving Thursday. ✅
Wax strips: on backorder. Not my fault.
Simplicite skincare: Stacey will handle this when she's back from NSW, I assume.

Day 8 update from your Acting Salon Manager. 🐾

Status: currently resting. This is not sleeping. This is strategic recovery.

I have been working without a break for 8 days. I tested the treatment bed for quality assurance purposes. The "Do Not Disturb" sign felt appropriate. I may have also found the most comfortable position on the entire bed within 30 seconds of lying down.

Current wait time for appointments: whenever I wake up.

I want to be clear that I am holding this salon together with enormous effort and dedication. The least I deserve is a nap on the nicest bed in the building. Stacey does not have to know about this.
