🏙️ A 33-storey hotel is starting to take shape on one of Sydney’s tightest development sites.
Dubbed a “pencil tower,” the Haymarket project has a Pitt Street frontage of just 6.4 metres — an unusually narrow site for a tower of this scale.

🏁 Greyhound racing at Wentworth Park will end on 16 October, closing the book on almost a century at the Glebe track.
The departure clears the way for a major transformation of the site, with plans for public green space, sports fields, a playground and walking and cycling paths.
And the historic track is set to go out with one of its biggest races.

McDonald’s is continuing its bid to open a restaurant near Redfern Station and has proposed to cut its trading hours as part of an appeal on the disapproval of its development application.
The amended proposal also includes updated retention of heritage features, new bicycle parking, and a redesigned waste area. A new crime prevention report also details the reduced trading hours, proposed CCTV installation, lighting, staff controls and a redesigned entrance.

Community members and heritage advocates are calling for the preservation of a landmark mural at the former Sydney Fish Market, arguing the artwork should be saved before redevelopment of the Blackwattle Bay site begins. Created by artist Keith Howland in 1990, the ceramic mural has overlooked the fish market for more than three decades.
There are plans to transform the former market precinct into a new residential neighbourhood that will include more than 1,500 homes.
