The face behind the name 🤍 My girl, Myla.

Myla has grown up around beauty. She’s genuinely interested in it, she never skips her skincare, and she loves using beauty as another way to express herself.

Right now she is into a bold fluffy brow and a lash lift seems a much better, safer approach than heating up a lash curler daily!

And yes, she’s young. Which is exactly why my approach has always been discernment, not deprivation.

I don’t think our job is to teach young girls that an interest in beauty is inherently superficial or something they need to wait until an arbitrary age to enjoy. I think our job is to teach them the difference between looking after themselves, expressing themselves and feeling as though they need to change themselves.

There’s a big difference.

Nothing is forced in our house. If you know Myla, you’ll know there’d be very little chance of forcing her into anything anyway 😂 She knows what she likes, has strong opinions and is quite comfortable expressing them (not to mention if I don’t add enough depth to those brows, she’s only going to re-do them herself and she’s mighty talented at it too haha).

My role is simply to keep things age-appropriate and tasteful, educate her around skin health and maintenance, and make sure anything she chooses to do is something she understands and is willing to look after properly.

Beauty should be something she gets to enjoy,  not something she learns she needs.

And I think there’s room to raise girls who love skincare, lashes, makeup and all the fun that comes with it, while simultaneously teaching them that none of those things determine their worth.

That, to me, is the balance.

“welcome to the real world of my brain...it sucks...you’re gonna love it!” 😆

In all seriousness though I care so deeply about the daily operations inside MYLA that forgetting where I put my tweezers is really such a small thing in the grand scheme of things.

The real to-do list sits within every client who steps through my door:
- Who are they?
- What can I do to achieve their goals?
When I am with them, thats all that matters ~

I need you to LISTEN UP HERE!!!! 🎙️ The best cosmetic tattooing doesn’t always announce itself.

This is why I love showing every stage: bare lip, freshly tattooed, and fully healed.

Immediately after treatment, there is swelling. There is stronger colour. There is crisp definition. That is not the finished result.

As the skin heals, that intensity softens and the pigment settles back into the lip. What remains can be incredibly subtle but with a more defined border, improved symmetry, a more even wash of colour and a lip that simply looks…BETTER.

And sometimes it isn’t until you put the healed result beside the original lip that you realise just how much those seemingly small changes are doing.

Let’s get clear on something... natural does NOT mean ineffective. Undetectable does NOT mean insignificant.
You can absolutely choose a bolder cosmetic tattoo result. But there is an enormous amount of skill in creating a result that doesn’t immediately read as tattooed:  it just reads as you.

For me, longevity matters too. I’m not only considering how your lips look when you leave my studio, or even when they heal six weeks later. I’m thinking about how that pigment will soften, fade and evolve within the skin over the years ahead.

Understanding skin, undertones, pigment selection, saturation and when not to add more is what allows us to create impact without overpowering the face.

Because the goal isn’t always to see the tattoo.
Sometimes the goal is to see you:  just with a little more definition.

P.S How S E X Y are my friends ❤️‍🔥

Collagen starts declining in your 20s ~ here’s what’s actually worth doing about it.

MYLA The Studio | Taree

Collagen shows up on the ingredient list of half your skincare shelf, and yes, some of those actives matter. But layering on more product doesn’t mean you’re adding collagen to your skin. That’s not how any of this works.

One of the most effective treatments is micro-needling. It re-triggers your skin’s own collagen production, rather than just sitting on top of it.

I get why the idea of needles near your face is off-putting. But this isn’t about damaging the skin, it’s about prompting its natural repair cycle to switch back on.

So what does that actually look like in results? Read above.

Small confession, I flinch a little every time I hear “anti-ageing.” It’s not a real destination. What we can actually do is build skin that’s stronger and more resilient over time. That’s the whole game.
