Feeling truly grateful and honoured to have been a Keynote Speaker at Stronger Families Across Generations.

Thank you to Monash Interfaith Gathering Inc. and the Migrant Information Centre (Eastern Melbourne) for creating such an important space for meaningful conversations around family resilience, healthy relationships, prevention and community support.

Are we doing enough to empower our boys? 💙

As a mum, I find myself asking this more and more.

With the heartbreaking stories of violence against women and girls, we need to start these conversations early. At home, we can teach our boys that respect means accepting boundaries, rejection is not an attack, and asking for help is a strength not a weakness.

We also need to help them navigate harmful messages online, including misogyny and unrealistic ideas about masculinity.

So, what conversations are we having with our boys?
💬 How do we teach them to handle rejection?💬 How do we talk about consent, boundaries and healthy relationships?
💬 How do we encourage them to express emotions and seek help?
💬 How do we challenge harmful messages they see online?

I want my son to grow up knowing that being a good man isn't about control or dominance. It’s about respect, empathy, emotional strength and knowing when to seek professional help.

This is something I explore in my book Raising Resilient Families because raising resilient boys today means helping them become emotionally healthy, respectful men tomorrow.

Are we having these conversations early enough? And what are you doing at home to help educate your boys?
