๐ฐ Rohingya Youth Demand Justice for Muhammad Ullah
๐ April 26, 2026
The Rohingya community is once again facing a heartbreaking tragedy.
A young Rohingya refugee, Muhammad Ullah from Camp No. 7, lost his life after a boat capsized in the Andaman Sea while trying to reach Malaysia.
Reports suggest that around 250 people died or remain missing in this devastating incident.
Before leaving the camp, Muhammad Ullah had reportedly received death threats on social media after speaking out against the activities of a group known as RCPR. Due to fear for his safety, he fled only to face a tragic end at sea.
๐ This is not just an accident.
It raises serious questions about safety, freedom of expression, and protection within the refugee community.
โ Now, Rohingya youth are raising their voices and demanding:
An independent and transparent investigation into his death
Accountability for those who threatened him
Stronger protection for refugees who speak out
๐ข The community believes this is not only about one life โ
it is about justice, dignity, and the right to speak without fear.
๐ We must ask:
How many more lives must be lost before real protection is ensured?
๐คฒ May Allah grant peace to the victims and strength to their families.

๐ค Why Did our Brother Die at Sea โ We Want Justice
Why did our brother die at sea, who will answer for this pain?
He left with hope for safety, but never returned again.
The waves now hold his silence, the ocean knows his name,
We demand justice, we demand justiceโlet truth break through the shame.
We want justice, we want justice, let the world hear our cry,
He ran from fear and danger, but still he had to die.
No one should flee in terror, no one should lose their life,
We carry his story forward through sorrow, loss, and strife.
He escaped from threats and fear, seeking a safer place,
But the sea became his ending, we still remember his face.
You cannot bury the truth beneath the waves and night,
Justice must rise like morning, bringing back the light.
We want justice, we want justice, let every heart feel this pain,
For those who never made it home, not by land or rain.
Against fear and oppression, we stand and speak as one,
Until justice is delivered, our voice wonโt be undone.
Wake Rohingya youth!
Wake Rohingya youth!
Wake Rohingya youth!
Wake Rohingya youth!
Why did our brother die at sea?
We want justice!
No more silence, no more fear,
We demand truth, we demand justice here!
No more oppression in the camp, no more control,
We stand together with one strong soul!
Wake Rohingya youthโrise and speak,
For justice, for truth, for the ones we seek!

Rohingya Refugee Population in Coxโs Bazar Increases by Nearly 179,000 in One Year
A newly released report from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has revealed a significant increase in the number of Rohingya refugees living in the camps of Coxโs Bazar, Bangladesh.
According to the UN agencyโs monthly report published on March 16, 2026, the Rohingya refugee population in Coxโs Bazar has increased by nearly 179,000 people within just one year.
The report states that on February 28, 2025, the total number of Rohingya refugees registered in the camps was 1,006,107. However, by February 2026, that number had risen to 1,184,864, meaning that 178,757 additional Rohingya people are now living in the refugee camps.
This sharp increase highlights the continuing humanitarian crisis faced by the Rohingya people, who have been forced to flee their homes due to persecution, violence, and systematic discrimination in Myanmar.
The UNHCR also noted that the presence of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh dates back decades. Since 1990, there were 39,502 registered Rohingya refugees in the country. However, the situation changed dramatically after the military crackdown in August 2017, widely known as the Rohingya Genocide. During that time, more than one million Rohingya were forced to flee across the border into Bangladesh to escape killings, violence, and destruction of their villages.
Today, the Rohingya refugees in Coxโs Bazar are living in what is considered the largest refugee settlement in the world. Many families continue to struggle with limited resources, overcrowded shelters, restricted education opportunities, and uncertain futures.
The continued rise in the refugee population reflects the ongoing instability and lack of safety for Rohingya people in Myanmar. It also reminds the international community that the Rohingya crisis remains unresolved and that sustainable solutions โ including justice, safety, citizenship, and the right to return to their homeland with dignity โ are still urgently needed.
For the Rohingya community, these numbers are not just statistics. They represent families who lost their homes, children growing up in refugee camps, and a people still waiting for justice and recognition of their rights.
