HEAT, the new fragrance by Olivier Cresp for AKRO, has just arrived at Smell Stories. And we’re very happy to be the first perfumery in Belgium to have it.
Think "gourmand" means sweet? Think again. Inspired by the addictive heat of red chili peppers, HEAT is spicy, vibrant and seriously addictive. One spray and your senses are wide awake.

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Artist and perfumer Chester Gibs created the first perfume for fragrance publishing house New Niche and came to Smell Stories to share his art, the inspiration for the perfume and the raw materials he used for his creation.
It was an olfactory voyage to Bali, accompanied by Indonesian treats freshly made by Rumah Jawa.
Thank you Chester and everyone who attended the event! It was magical.

To celebrate this weekend's 30th Brussels Pride, our window is dedicated to 19-69, a Swedish perfume house that stands for freedom, tolerance, diversity and counterculture. One of their fragrances, June 28, pays tribute to the moment that inspired its name.
On June 28, 1969, the Stonewall Riots in New York sparked a global movement for visibility, equality and the freedom to be yourself.

He had one of those careers most people spend their whole life building. Creative strategy director for one of the world's biggest brands. Then, at 50, Tom Hidvégi walked away to become a perfumer.
We fully relate to that brave pivot as we did something similar ourselves when we started Smell Stories. Maybe that's why we felt the connection so immediately.
Tom chose perfumery because it's a nonverbal profession. As he puts it: "I can't fully express what I want to show, so I borrow the power of perfume to have a perfect day." He learned the technical basics, then abandoned the sheet music and started composing freely, embroidering molecules the way a musician plays by ear.
That word (embroidering) is no coincidence. Brodēon takes its name from embroidery: the art of threading something intricate and intentional into one composition, stitch by stitch. That's exactly how Tom builds a fragrance.
Two years. Four fragrances. Each one with a very personal meaning. What we love most: he cares deeply about them, but he’s not protective. He wants you to play. Layer Ruméa with Cuiré, for instance, and you get something entirely new: metallic coconut and aged rum colliding with saffron-laced leather and sunlit fruit. A warm-cold paradox. Flickering gold on skin. Danger beneath elegance.
