What is Lemongrass ?

Lemongrass is a perennial grass with a lemony scent that grows in tropical climates of eastern Bhutan.
The lemongrass oil know as citronella have strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, making it an essential ingredient in household disinfectants.
The major use of lemongrass oil is as a source of citral, which is a popular ingredient in perfumes, cosmetics and beverages.

As many insects and pests are attracted to sweet and juicy smells produced by flowers, the sharp and pungent odor of this herb has the opposite effect on pests.
Lemongrass doesn’t harm those nuisance pests, it helps in deterring them away from your home.

The culinary herb is produced from the stalk of the lemongrass plant (Cymbopogon citratus). It is a common ingredient in Thai cooking and can also be found in dishes from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and India.
