A proper exercise program offers many benefits when performed correctly and in moderation.

Strengthening about 60% of the body by lifting against gravity and returning to the surface helps stabilize the vertebrae, promoting blood flow that carries essential oxygen and nutrients to repair and regenerate tissues.

For example, bridging exercises build spinal stability, while knee-to-chest stretches improve flexibility in the lower back. When combined, these movements keep the spine strong, flexible, and pain-free.

However, performing only the knee-to-chest exercise repeatedly may impinge the sciatic nerve, causing paresthesia or radiating leg pain.

About Neck pain

Neck pain is a common condition characterized by discomfort in the cervical spine, which can affect the muscles, nerves, and vertebrae in the neck.

Causes
1.Muscle Strain: Poor posture, sleeping in an awkward position, or overuse can lead to muscle strain.
Injuries: Whiplash from accidents, sports injuries, or falls.
2.Degenerative Diseases: Conditions like osteoarthritis or degenerative disc disease can lead to neck pain.
3.Nerve Compression: Herniated discs or bone spurs can press on spinal nerves, causing pain.
4.Infections and Tumors: Rarely, infections or tumors in the neck area can cause pain.

Types of Neck Pain
a•Acute Neck Pain: Lasts less than 6 weeks; often caused by muscle strain, injury, or sudden movement.
b•Subacute Neck Pain: Lasts between 6 weeks and 3 months; may involve ongoing muscle issues or early signs of degenerative changes.
c.Chronic Neck Pain: Persists for more than 3 months; often involves long-term conditions, degenerative changes, or unresolved injuries.
Treatment
Conservative Treatments:

Rest: Avoiding activities that exacerbate pain.
Ice and Heat Therapy: Ice for acute pain, heat for chronic discomfort.
Physical Therapy: Strengthening and stretching exercises.
Medications: NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen) for pain relief, muscle relaxants for spasms.
Interventional Treatments:

Injections: Corticosteroid injections for inflammation.
Nerve Blocks: For targeted pain relief.
Surgical Treatments: Considered in severe cases, such as herniated discs or spinal stenosis, where conservative measures fail.

Lifestyle Modifications: Improving ergonomics, maintaining good posture, and engaging in regular exercise.
